Large, Family Apartment in Vence, near Nice - LONG TERM LETS ONLY Reviews

After holidaying for many years in France we have found the place we would wish to return to time and time again.

Not only is the location just right. A short drive from Nice airport and the splendour of the Cote d’Azur and Monaco but head inland and you are soon experiencing the freshness of the countryside. Take a picnic up to the Col de Vence and spend some time wandering around the painted stones.

For those who like ancient towns Vence itself is a few mins walk with its vast selection of art galleries, restaurants, markets on the town square and even a decent supermarket if need to food shop. St Paul de Vence is but a short drive away and our favourite Tourettes-sur-Loup again just a short easy drive.

The apartment is extremely well equipped, and not with a miss match of plates and cutlery that you often find in holiday lets but to a standard that would indicate that the owners live in the apartment for long periods of time.

For sun worshipers you need to rise slightly early as the sun did tend to move off the terrace around about lunchtime when we were there in June but with the protection offered by the apartment above we were still able to sit out and indeed dine if there is any rain.

All in all with a combination of the area and quality of apartment this was one of our most enjoyable holidays in that region of France.

We have stayed in the flat for two weeks. The flat is clean and exaclty as described. Everything is present and in good working order. Especially the huge balcony is perfect.

The "Cité Historique" of Vence is very nice with a lot of restaurants and shops. Everything you need in walking distance.

Lovely sunny apartment in Vence
This is a ,lovely sunny spacious two bedroom apartment in a block just outside the village of Vence. It is very well equipped and the terrace has a beautiful view over the valley. The walk up to the village is steep but you are warned, and it is nicer to wander around the village without the hassle of parking the car (there is allocated space for parking). Getting down to the coast is easy, and there is much to see. Everything is well explained for visitors - I think the owner is there herself often and attention to detail is evident - and the pictures on the walls are so right for this sunny climate!

Our pre trip experience with the owner was 5 star, with excellent info and directions. The apartment was clean, well-maintained, spacious, comfortable and very well equipped. We liked Vence very much, several good restaurants - we particularly enjoyed eating with the locals in St. Veran - good shops and plenty of history. We hired a car and visited villages in the area as well as a day in Nice. A packed 4 days.

We had a lovely stay. Shirley was very helpful and the apartment was cosy. Beautifully warm autumn weather meant we were able to enjoy the nearby beaches too!

The apartment is only a short drive from Nice airport. We were thrilled when we arrived to find such an open, spacious, beautiful, well-maintained apartment, with a lovely extensive balcony, perfect for that evening drink. Vence is a stunning medieval village, with a very relaxed, and authentically French feel about it. There are some excellent restaurants near by, and many artists studios to explore. We decided not to hire a car, and were pleased to find that public transport is very cheap - only €1.50 on the bus from Vence to Nice, and it was very easy to explore the Côte d'Azur's restaurants and beaches without having to worry about driving back. Shirley provided great service, answering all of our questions before they were asked. I would highly recommend her apartment, and Vence.

Excellent location, clean and well equipped. Great views, nice balcony area and useful parking space! Shirley was a wonderful host, first class from start to finish. Great holiday with two young children, the area is great and perfect for a relaxing and fun filled break.

The big apartment is in Vence, very well situated, in the hills behind Cagnes/Nice. From there, are about 1 min to Vence, Saint-Paul de Vence 15 min, after Cagnes-sur-Mer, 20 min after Nice, etc. after Cannes and Monaco we went 10 min very fast. The hostess is very friendly and responds quickly to questions. The apartment is very clean and well equipped with everything you need. We ate every day outside on the large terrace, that goes from one side to the other of the apartment. Thanks again to Shirley
