Perfectly located, La Pierre Qui Chante is only a 45 minute drive from Nice airport but feels a world away from the hustle and bustle. It is set in unspoilt countryside, close to several picture post card villages. The pretty and historic village of Fayence is about 10 minutes away by car providing access to a supermarket and essential shops; Fayence also hosts a market three times a week with a variety of stalls including fresh and fabulous seasonal fruit, vegetables, cheeses etc. There are a number of tempting boulangeries, cafes and restaurants close by and the delicious Marche Paysan stocking the best of regional produce is a short run down the D562; a great stopping off point on the way to visit the pretty villages of Callian or Montereaux. Further on, the beautiful Lake Cassien with opportunities for swimming and fishing is well worth a visit; there are photo opportunities at every turn. Each time we return to La Pierre Qui Chante we find new places to explore on our doorstep, as well as having the option of venturing even further afield to the coast or the mountains. We really are spoilt for choice in this beautiful part of the world

The house itself is totally private and very peaceful with lovely views from all sides. The outdoor living space is spacious and perfect for relaxing and soaking up the warmth of the Provençal climate; we have enjoyed hours of sunshine and blue skies lounging around the pool. There are a number of walks locally and opportunities for longer walks further afield; if you can tear yourself a way from the pool side!

La Pierre Qui Chante is a comfortable home that is very easy to live in; it is spacious, clean and very well equipped with all of the necessary comforts and amenities. Marjie and Tony are warm and welcoming; they are great ambassadors for the region and have a wealth of local knowledge.

We are eagerly planning our next visit in 2018.

This was our second visit to La Pierre qui Chante. Having had such a lovely holiday in 2015, we couldn't wait to return and I hope at some point in the future we will go back again. The house is up in the hills and very secluded so the views are beautiful and there is complete privacy. The pool is in the sun all day and was perfectly clean. The owners had put in a new liner since our previous stay and also bought some very smart and comfortable pool furniture. Tony and Marjie are very friendly and helpful; close by if needed, but otherwise unobtrusive. We loved Faience which has a number of nice places to eat and a busy itinerary of evening events, dances, markets during the summer. On the way into Faience is a fabulous restaurant called La Table d'Yves, which is well worth a visit. We also visited Monaco, Grasse, Cannes and Nice. All in all a wonderful and relaxing holiday.

Lovely, spacious house. Gorgeous garden - eating figs fresh off the trees was a treat. Stunning views. Great location within an an hour of nice and Cannes - when we could drag the family away from the pool and the comfortable sun loungers.

Tony and Marjie are very welcoming and have good knowledge of the area and places to visit off of the tourist trail.

We're looking forward to a return visit.

hank you to Marjie & Tony for making us very welcome. It was a really comfortable base from which to explore so many beautiful Provence villages. Our four boys loved the house and pool. With so many places to eat in Fayence, Tony's local knowledge was very helpful. Thank you Tony, for booking us into the local restaurant. Tasty Sea Bream!

We loved our stay and hope to come again one day.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Pierre Qui Chante. The house was clean and comfortable. We liked the fact that the owners live there most of the year because it did feel like a home. The pool was a good size and remained in the sun all day and there were plenty of shady spots to sit and read or eat too. The local area is beautiful and there are plenty of nearby towns with restaurants, cafes and markets to enjoy. Nearby there is a lake with pedalos and inflatable slides etc which our children loved. All in all a fabulous holiday and we are definitely going again.

My wife, son, daughter-in-law and I rented this property for one week in June/July 2014 and wished we had stayed longer. The property is charming, on top of a hill, and very secluded. It is in a beautiful rural setting, but also close to a full range of amenities in the village of Fayence, which is 10-15 minutes drive from the house.

The house is immaculate: tastefully furnished and decorated, with artistic accents; well-maintained and fully equipped. The grounds are extensive, with a nice pool and a charcoal BBQ, which we enjoyed using. The owners, Marjie and Tony, live in the house most of the year, but relocate to their nearby apartment during rental periods. They are on hand to greet you on arrival and easy to contact if you need help or have any questions. We really enjoyed meeting them; they are very pleasant, humorous, interesting people and very helpful in ensuring you get maximum value from your stay. In our case my wife’s birthday was the day after we arrived and I wanted to arrange a glider ride for her - Fayence is a renowned center for gliding. Tony was diligent in making the arrangements with the Gliding Club in advance of our arrival, which greatly simplified the process from my standpoint. Doing business with Marjie and Tony was straightforward, and they were prompt in returning our security deposit at the end.

Fayence is a lovely village with a good selection of restaurants. We enjoyed: Table D’Yves for an upscale, but not over the top, experience; L’Auberge Fleurie for seafood; and both Strega and La Terrasse for pizza and salads. We also enjoyed the fish soup and stuffed mussels at Strega. Marjie and Tony recommended L’Echapee Belle, a small restaurant with an interior courtyard in nearby St Paul-en-Foret, which we also liked.

There are several quaint villages near Fayence, such as Mons and Seillans, that are worth visiting for a glimpse of a bygone age but we really enjoyed Tourrettes. Walking the streets was like visiting an art exhibition - local artists had integrated their creations into the architecture of the village and it seemed there was a surprise every time we turned a corner. I think the tourist office had a map outlining a walk through the village that would see every exhibit, but we opted to freelance it and nonetheless had a very enjoyable experience.

All in all, we can highly recommend this property and would certainly consider a return visit. Our thanks to Marjie and Tony for an enjoyable vacation.

Our Norwegian family of 4 spent a week at La Pierre Qui Chante during this year’s summer vacation.

Tony and Marjie welcomed us and informed us of everything we needed to know about the house and the nearby area. They followed up by a few phone calls the next days, to make sure that everything was all right with is. Very professional. Everything in the villa and the property is well looked after, well equipped and has everything you need.

The total privacy and the property’s unparalleled location make it a private paradise. Relaxing, swimming in the pool, barbequing in the evening, enjoying a glass of wine while looking at the wonderful scenery makes you forget the everyday buzz. I (the father of the house) am a runner, and a morning run in the nearby forests where you can smell the summer in Provence is highly recommended.

Our children loved looking after Miss Daisy (the property cat), and have already starting to ask when we plan to see her again.

We enjoyed a day trip to Cannes one day, and visited the local food market on Fayence where we also enjoyed a good lunch another day.

But most of the time was spent at La Pierre Qui Chante. We played table tennis, had a family Petanque tournament every evening, before we rounded the evening off in the living room with a good book and a game of Yahtzee.

We hope to back again, and since the house is so spacious we may bring some more family members next time.

Thank you Tony and Marjie.

This was exactly what we were looking for, a quiet and beautiful spot with an impressive amount of outdoor space, lovely pool, and an interior with character. Right in the heart of a beautiful part of Provence, spitting distance from a handful of extraordinary medieval towns. Not far (but not too close) to the busy coastal beaches, perfect for a day trip. The highlight of the area for us were the swimming holes in the rivers in the gorges up near Mons. Ideal for two families sharing. Thanks again Tony and Marjie.

My partner and I along with our 2dogs spent 10 sunny days at this villa, it was exactly what we were expecting and we received a very warm welcome from Tony and Marjie, who were on hand to help with information on walking in the area and they also arranged the necessary vet appointment for our return to the uk.

The villa's location is truly unique and was absolutely perfect for us.

Everything about the villa, grounds and pool was immaculate and very well looked after.

We can't rate this property highly enough and very much hope to visit again in the future.

Our group consisted of myself, my husband, our two daughters aged 20 and 23 and three of their friends. To please such a diverse group is not easy but I'm glad to say our wonderful stay in Fayence satisfied all. The accommodation was great, especially the pool and its surroundings. Many happy lunches and dinners were spent in the lovely covered patio area. We all enjoyed the table tennis, bat and ball in the pool and the swing chairs were regularly used during lazy afternoons. It was a bonus having Wi-Fi, a great telly with Sky on which to watch the Olympics, and free telephone calls to the UK (and many other countries). The house and garden were very clean and presentable and well equipped.

We enjoyed perfect weather on all but one day (during which we watched a spectacular thunderstorm).

The owners were very welcoming and went out of their way to be helpful and ensured our needs were accommodated.

The area has fantastic variety. We enjoyed a fun day out in Monaco. My husband had the time of his life experiencing driving the track! We also had a great day out to the Gorge which was stunning. But mostly we enjoyed pottering around the pretty local villages and taking in the atmosphere. I would recommend Le France for a good meal - great service and lovely food.

We hope to come again one day. It is very unusual for us to ever revisit a place but Fayence, and in particular Le Pierre Qui Chante, really ticked all the boxes for us. However, I'm not sure if we would attempt driving down in one day again as it was a very exhausting journey. Thank you Tony and Marjie for a great stay!
