Traditional Vendee Country House with Large Garden in Beaulieu-sous-la-Roche, France

Traditional country house in the Vendée available for holiday rentals.

The Vendée is on the west coast of France, to the south of Brittany. It has a beautiful coastline with attractive countryside inland. It is about 3 hours from St Malo, 4 to 5 hours from Cherbourg and Caen and 6 to 7 hours from Calais.

The house is located in the quiet hamlet of La Boucherie, within one mile of the small town of Beaulieu sous la Roche. The popular resorts of St Gilles Croix-de-Vie, St Jean-de-Monts and Les Sables-d'Olonnes are within easy reach.

The house has 3 bedrooms and will sleep 6 comfortably and could sleep 8.

It is only 30 minutes from the Vendean coast, with both safe bathing for families and surfing for the more adventurous. It is also well situated for a trip to the Puys de Fuys theme park. If you want longer excursions there are the Futuroscope theme park, the resort of La Rochelle, the Ile de Nourmoutier and the beautiful Ile de Yeu.

Only 15 minutes away in Apremont there is an impressive chateau and a lake with a man made beach and supervised bathing and windsurfing (in season), which is ideal for both young children and older ones. Nearby there is also the ancient castle at Talmont, built by Richard the Lionheart.

If you don't want to venture far, you can enjoy the large garden. There are lots of lovely walks and bike rides around the house, without resorting to the car. There are plenty of restaurants nearby in Beaulieu and Aizenay.
