Chalet Soleil Riant is a very spacious 5 bedroom chalet spread over three floors and situated in a quiet residential area.
The large south facing terrace is ideal for spring and summer barbecues. The wooden construction of the chalet provides a typical alpine feel to the property.
Soleil Riant is built using epicea (pine), meleze (larch) and cedre rouge (red cedar), providing warmth and character in the mountains. It's set over three floors; garage, ski, shower room, and laundry room in the basement; the kitchen, living space, bathroom and a bedroom on the ground floor; and four further bedrooms and a bathroom on the top floor.
The kitchen has an electric five ring hob, oven, dishwasher & fridge/freezer. It comes fully equipped with all you may need including a fondue set and a wine rack. It's linked with the dining area and hallway.
The dining table comfortably seats 10 and has makes up one end of the open plan living space. In the summer an outside table can be set up on the rear terrace with the BBQ.
The living area seats 10 on a fitted sofa and chairs adjacent to the balcony doors. You will find lots of games and books amongst the bookshelf, and a TV with an HDMI port.
The ski and boot room takes all the stress out of the start and end of the day. Rack and shelves allow a space for equipment and the neighbouring laundry room has extra drying space. In the garage you've got the space to take off your boots inside.
Two bathrooms are complete with over bath showers, sinks and bidets. One bath has jet functions for relaxation. A separate shower room in the basement includes a rain shower head.
The Bedrooms
The master room has stunning mountain views to the Pointe d'Areu. Double doors open onto a private balcony. Storage includes chest of drawers and a walk in wardrobe, where a cot is also stored. The double bedroom is generous in size and complimented with a chest of drawers, cupboard and bookshelf. As per the master it looks out across to mountain views. Three spacious twin rooms provide plenty of personal space. Bedside drawers and cupboards in each offer ease of storage.
Outside
A small garden and terrace to the rear of the chalet make a perfect space for summer meals outside, using the kitchen window that has a hatch shelf. In combination with the balconies it's easy to find a place to relax for time out from activities and trips in the summer. The double garage is ideal for storing mountain bikes and sporting equipment.
Activities
The chalet is well suited for access to the ski slopes and the centre of the village. It has its own double garage which is ideal for storing mountain bikes and sporting equipment in the summer. It takes 3 minutes to walk to the swimming pool, spa, sports centre, tennis courts, archery and high ropes course and a 10 minute walk to village centre. Mountain biking, climbing, horse riding, walking, paragliding, windsurfing, swimming (in mountain lakes), fishing and many other activities are also possible in the area. Canoeing and golf can be reached with a short drive! Sailing is possible on Lake Annecy or Lake Geneva.
Les Carroz
Les Carroz has built a number of downhill mountain biking courses to suit all abilities. Les Carroz maintains a village atmosphere while offering a top alpine experience for visitors. Perched on a plateau it sits above the Chamonix valley at 1140m which makes for stunning views from the village edge and as you go up the mountain.
Les Carroz is set in the Grand Massif skiing area linked with Flaine, Morrillon, Samoens and Sixt with skiing up to 2480m. 265km of pistes include 15 black runs, 49 red runs, 55 blue runs, and 16 green runs. All ages and abilities are catered for with two ski schools in the village, as well as independent instructors and guides. The ski area is constantly being improved with new lifts and pistes and improvements to some of the older pistes to prevent "traffic jams" at peak times.
For those who don't ski there is a spa and pool, snow shoe walks, dog sledging, as well as bars and shops. You can always head up the mountain for lunch in a restaurant.
It is a 10 minute walk into the village which has a good choice of restaurants, cafes, bars, a cinema, shops and two small but very well stocked supermarkets and a larger one is a 15 minute walk away at Le Lays. The bus stop for the navette (ski bus) is only 50 m from the chalet and takes 10 minutes to drive to the telecabine. Les Carroz is a busy attractive village with many different restaurants.
Summer
There is no end of activities to choose from during summer. In the village itself there are mountain biking trails for all abilities, marked walking routes, paragliding, tennis, swimming, an outdoor gym, horse riding, volleyball and hot air ballooning. Within 40 minutes drive you can find a famous Tour de France climb, mountain lakes for swimming, white water rafting, canyoning, and climbing.
