This large self-catering country house was built about 150 years ago as the original Maison de Maitre of the village of Belarga. It is situated in a quiet village just 200m from the river and owned by a prominent wine producing family. The property comprises 6 bedrooms that sleep 12 people, 2 bathrooms, a modern kitchen/dining area, comfortable living room with log burner, double interior doors, high ceilings and traditional stone staircase. The house has been recently renovated, yet retains much of it’s original character and charm.
French doors from the living room and kitchen lead out onto a tiled terrace which is shaded by 100 year old horse chestnut trees. There is also an outdoor dining table and BBQ area. An opening from the terrace leads to a lawn and heated pool with further terrace and pergola, ideal for al fresco dining or just relaxing.
Belarga is situated on the river Herault and has a pretty square with shop, bar/restaurant and post office. The river is wonderful for swimming or sunbathing on the pebble beach. Pezenas is only 10mins by car. Montpellier, Meze, Marsaillan, Lac Salagou and Carcassonne are all within driving distance of the house!
