This is a late 18th century cottage and former wine-maker’s house, typical of the traditional 'longère" style, with a long facade and an upper floor with dormer windows.
A major renovation completed in 2005, preserved the character of the old house while making it as comfortable as any contemporary home. Indeed, this property is not only "charming"... but also very comfortable! Charm does rime with comfort, here. It features quality beds, mattresses and linen, fluffy towels, washer AND dryer, two full bathrooms (one with a WC, downstairs) and two powder rooms with WCs (one on each floor, that is a total of THREE WCs), open kitchen concept with gourmet utensils and equipment, running water filtering system, top of the line design radiators and towel rails providing radiant heat for your comfort at wintertime, a Finnish Sauna for two, WiFi Internet in every room and all around the property, smart TV with satellite channels, among other amenities.
With numerous windows, large skylights and a South-West main exposure, the house enjoys lots of sunlight and great views of skies full of stars by a clear night. Windows on the south-west side look towards the pool and a distant hamlet; all windows have stunning views on the surrounding fields, vineyards and woods.
The cottage’s layout ensures privacy in each bedroom with an en suite bathroom upstairs, while offering an ideal set-up for unforgettable moments all together in the living room downstairs and family room upstairs.
The house is set on two floors. The ground floor features a large living-room and dining area centered around a fireplace. The kitchen is open to the living and dining areas. It is well equipped with gourmet cooking utensils. The dining area has a large table that can sit up to eight persons.
The main bedroom downstairs has a queen size bed and its French window opens to a pergola and a deck around the pool on the South-West facade (enjoy the sunsets!). The other bedroom on the ground floor has twin beds; its French window opens to a patio under a gazebo (North-East facade), with BBQ, teak table and chairs shadowed by pine trees and silver birch trees. The ground floor also features a laundry room with a sauna, a full bathroom with a shower and toilet, and a separate powder room with a toilet and basin.
The third bedroom is upstairs and has a full size bed under the rooftop. It is lightened with two dormer windows and is en suite with a bathroom that has a bathtub with shower, and a powder room with a toilet and basin. The bedroom also opens into a library full of books in English, French and Spanish. On this same first floor, there is a family room with sofas, a flat-screen TV and sound system.
In case you would have to invite two more guests to your family and siblings reunions, there is another self-standing stone cottage next to main cottage on the same courtyard. It has a veranda/breakfast nook, a large fully equipped kitchen, a full bathroom with italian design shower, and a bedroom/living room with a full size bed that can accommodate two guests in comfort. And if you would need one more bedroom for a couple (i.e. up to a total of 4 additional guests in the side cottage), there is another bedroom upstairs, in this same side cottage, with high ceilings, nice antique furniture and a queen size bed. This bedroom is actually the largest in the property. It is decorated with taste and has the most stunning views over the countryside surroundings through two large windows. WiFi Internet is accessible in all the side cottage rooms with smart Tv sets in each bedroom.
These options for two (or four) additional guests are upon request and are not included in the basic rental fees for this property. Reservations can be requested even durring you stay at the main cottage as in order to ensure full privacy of the party that has booked the main cottage, the side cottage won't be rented-out to another party when the main cottage is booked; and access to the deck and pool, garden and courtyard, North-East terrace, won't be shared.
The pool can be heated up to 23 degres Celsius, upon request (48h notice) and extra fees (15 Euros/day, or 100 Euro/week).
