This truly is a beautiful, immaculate house with all the amenities you could wish for. The kitchen is fully equipped which makes it easy to prepare evening meals and the bedrooms are fully air-conditioned which is a real necessity in August. Each bedroom has an ensuite with excellent walk-in shower. The lovely pool and shaded outside seating area (not shown in pictures) are ideal for cooling off from the mid-day sun. Petra the housekeeper was very welcoming and just a phone call away for any help and guidance.
There is a large supermarket in Fayence which is about a 10 minute drive and a small supermarket in Seillans which has a good selection.
The house is located in an excellent position, only a 5 minute drive from Seillans, and close to many other hill top villages. It is about one hour from the coast and one hour from Gorge du Verdon which is stunning. As an alternative to the coast, Lac St Cassien is a 20 minute drive and is beautiful with many water sports available.
We had a fantastic holiday and would highly recommend the property and location.
We have just returned from a very happy week in this lovely, spacious villa in Seillans. The villa is immaculate and extremely well designed. All bedrooms were excellent and had air conditioning, if needed. The pool remained very warm throughout the week and was much loved by all.
There are some fantastic cycle rides in the area and it was very easy to get to the coast too. We were very sad to leave and hope to return sometime.
Thank you Mindy for being so helpful and efficient throughout.
This was a great place for a getaway in one of the best parts of Provence. Lovely, secluded villa combining that rustic feel with all the comfort and kit you have at home. Just as the web site said. Kitchen and open plan just worked really well for us. Villa is less than an hour's drive of the beach, with Antibes & Nice in one direction and the Alpes in the other. My wife and I will be back.
Stayed with my family and wife first week of August. Very well constructed and sympathetic villa. Huge, open living space biggest plus, kitchen very nice and fully kitted out, pool nice. Good sized and comfortable bedrooms with air con! Overall a great experience, the villa is beautiful and the location is terrific. Such a stunning area. Very friendly and helpful owner. Will definitely go back one day!
Maybe just a few minor things:
- No aircon downstairs so rather than keeping the windows open (let's in mosquitos) a portable fan seems like a great idea in the summer
- Would have been nice to have the option for a mid-week/partial cleaning
- Wasp's nest by the pool (at least when we were staying there)
- BBQ wasn't properly cleaned and maintained so we couldn't use it
This was our second time to Seillans, with both times having booked and stayed at this Villa. All I can say it was even better the second time.
We flew to Nice from Gatwick and hired a car from the airport. Everything went smoothly with the exception of missing our early morning flight. The property was easy to find, having used the provided Tom-Tom.
The property was immaculate with the facilities all working as described and appropriately. The olive garden offered a peaceful rest and a splendid location for the actual house. The house contained many items which were unexpected and welcomed such as the toys for the children and maps of the surrounding areas, it seems as though every conceivable item had been provided. One of the main benefits was that the property felt home and it was always looked forward to when returning from a visit. The village itself is amazing, and we enjoyed our time there.
I was able to go running through the village and hills with many cyclists also using the hill training. The beaches of Nice and Cannes are not far away and we also went to Skiing in the alps which was again pretty wicked.
Mindy, was only text away – and offered a considerable amount of help with the amenities and places of interest. I would recommend this villa without hesitation, and look forward to visiting in the summer and at least once in the winter!
The villa is beautiful, set in an olive grove, with a lovely view of the mountains to the east. The pool and the patio are so inviting and relaxing. The weather was perfect during the second week in September.
The kitchen is modern and very well equipped. The area is quiet and peaceful, but close to the lovely village of Seillans and within an easy drive to the high mountains of the north. We visited the Canyon de Verdon, which is spectacular!
Sarah met us when we arrived and gave us so many helpful tips on what to do in the area, including excellent tips for our drive to the Canyon.
We loved every minute of our visit and hope to return some day soon.
We highly recommend this villa.
We booked the villa on the basis of the other reviews, so thought it would be a good idea to contribute our own review. We spent a week in the villa in mid-August. The villa itself is beautiful, with high ceilings, a modern well appointed kitchen and two living areas.
The bedrooms are roomy and the whole villa lives up to the photos: in fact, the kitchen is even more impressive in reality with a beautiful chandelier hanging from the high ceiling. The whole villa was spotless and very tastefully furnished, and had us saying "wow!" a few times as we were shown around.
The master bedroom is upstairs and is a great secluded room with it's own balcony. All fixtures, showers etc. are very modern and tasteful. We really felt that we were getting quality for our money.
The pool is a good size and is a great way to cool off in the sun. Young children will need to be watched as the pool gets quite deep in the centre. We have two children, aged 8 and 5, with the 8 year old being a good swimmer so he had no problems. The younger boy was fine as long as an adult was in or beside the pool. There are some floats available so they had great fun in the pool. A barbecue is provided, which we made use of when we weren't eating out.
The grounds are beautiful, with lavender and olive trees filling the air with beautiful scents.
Seillans is a beautiful medieval village, with some lovely restaurants (we ate at La Gloire de Mon Pere and Le Relais, both had great food). The villa is not really close enough to walk, but there is plenty of public car parking near and in the village. Driving through the village can be challenging if you haven't done it before (very narrow, steep streets!) but the parking at the bottom of the village gets you within a couple of minutes walk from the centre.
We will hopefully be booking this villa again, which I think it the highest recommendation we can make!
We had high expectations on arriving at the villa & wern't let down. Everything was as advertised on the web site. In ideal rural location with access to the coastal resorts of Cannes & St Tropez less than 1 hour away. Wouls recommend this villa to friends.
We had a very relaxing two week holiday at the beginning of July. The weather was fantastic, very hot with blue skies every day.
The villa was very spacious, well equipped, with everything you would need. With the heat, the air conditioning in the bedrooms was welcomed on an evening. The property was well maintained and the description on the web was spot on.
The villa was easy to find travelling from Nice airport but you definitely need a car to get around, the smaller the better given the winding narrow roads in the villages. We visited the Gorges du Verdon - the roads are not for the faint-hearted but worth a visit.
We had a great holiday even with two teenagers in tow and would recommend it.
PS - Sarah met us on arrival and was very helpful and just on the end of a phone if needed.
We stayed for a week during August and had a marvellous relaxing holiday. On arrival it was reassuring to be met by an English speaking representative who was able to explain all that we needed to know.
The house itself is stunning, beautifully finished, light, airy and tasteful. Everything that one could need is to hand. The obvious focal point is the lovely kitchen area which opens out onto the patio and pool. The three en suite bedrooms provide further quality finishing touches at every turn. We found the listing description to be spot on.
In the local area Seillans and Fayence are two very pretty hillside villages within easy driving distance, but for us not walkable. Fayence in particular has a very pleasant main thoroughfare with cafes, restaurants and shops, and is well worth a visit.
Further afield, the lively seaside resorts of Frejus and St Raphael are within an hour's drive through beautiful countryside. For any party with children we would recommend a twenty minute drive to Lac St Cassien. On a busy day the the parking can be hazardous but the water side facilities are tremendous.
In summary this is a marvellous villa in beautiful surroundings. We had a fantastic holiday and certainly hope to return in the future.
