The La Forge cottages (gîtes) are situated in the Cognac region of the sunny department of Charente Maritime, in a beautiful rural landscape on the edge of the small quiet village Le Gicq, 30 mins North of Cognac and 20 mins East of St Jean d'Angely.
There are two Charente Maritime rental cottages sleeping 4 persons (The Byre and Hirondelle Cottage) and one 2-person cottage (Le Chai). All the holiday properties are comfortable, well equipped and enjoy access to a large shared swimming pool with its own patio area. The cottages have been recently created from a charming stone barn restoration.
The Byre is ideal for those who want a relaxing break and immerse themselves in local French culture. Choose to Lounge around our large heated swimming pool or take a trip to one of the local beaches where you can enjoy our stunning climate, second only to the French Riviera.
This two bedroom accommodation is situated in an original stone built Charentaise barn that has been fully modernised to cater for your every 21st century need. An up to date interior blends with the original French surroundings.

The gîtes are within easy reach of historic towns such as Cognac and Saintes, with its Roman remains and river excursions and the beautiful and ancient port of La Rochelle.
Swimming and boating are available at St Jean d'Angely, Cognac and Saintes, with golf courses at Cognac and Saintes. A wide variety of seaside resorts are only an hour away - Royan, Fouras, and the long sandy beaches of the Ile d'Oleron.
Special Rental Conditions
Changeover day is Saturday, arriving after 4.00pm and departing before 10am.
Variable start dates are possible in the low season.
Bed linen available at £5 per week double and £3 per week single.
English owner on site.
Security and cleaning deposit £50.
Tourist tax 30p per person (adult & child) per night.
Sorry no pets or smokers.
