For travelers looking for a rustic farmhouse to visit the Normandy coast that is centrally located, I would recommend this property. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay very much. For a large group, the property wil serve your purposes. Don't expect fancy appliances.

We had a fabulous stay. The cottage is centrally located to all sights in Normandie. The owners were very helpful. We were on our honeymoon and we just loved it. We even spent 1 day just hanging around the cottage. Loveley backyard with outdoor furniture to relax on, a barbecue if it suits your needs. This cottage had everything we needed to make our semester a success. We recommend it highly and will be going back ourselves in the near future.
Thanks Marian for a fantastic place to stay.

We had a brilliant time at this Farmhouse, 2 families (10 in total) , loads of space for us all, Marian was so helpful and welcoming, nothing too much trouble.

The swimming pool and swings were great for the kids, loads of outside space , views were lovely.

Lots of places to see around Normandy

Will definitely go back again

We stayed in this wonderfully quaint 17th Century ..

We stayed in this wonderfully quaint 17th Century farmhouse July 17-25, 2012. The accommodations were more than ample for our family of six, comprised of three generations. We grandparents appreciated the first floor bedroom with adjacent bath. Our two teenage grand children thoroughly enjoyed the rooms with bunk beds, and the upstairs master bedroom with adjoining bath was very suitable for their parents. The owners are simply marvelous people! Fred was entertaining with talks of his worldly travels while in the British military. Marian is a wealth of information, having live in the area for 20 years. She graciously provided us with information about local places to shop, all the site seeing locations in the Normandy area, and any other assistance or information we required. She even removed our laundry from the washer and hung it on the line or put it in the dryer while we were seeing the sites, and took it down from the line when rain threatened, neatly folded and waiting for us upon our return . If you are looking for great accommodations, one price, with no extra fees, and outstanding hosts, we strongly recommend staying here.

The 3 couples touring together from the US thoughl..

The 3 couples touring together from the US thoughly enjoyed our 6 night stay in these rustic accomodations. Marian and Fred could not have been more gracious hosts. Upon our arrival, Marian greeted us with a fire burning brightly in the stove, a delicous apple tart, a baquette, cheese and cider. It was just the welcome we needed after a drive from Paris in the rain. The next day Marian spent with us as our guide to the WWII battlefields. She is very knowledgeble and things we had only read about became real. Le Petit Manoir was very comfortable and spacious and well equipped. The continued restoration Marian plans for the remainder of the property is most interesting and we wish her much success and would love to see the finished product one day. Marian was helpful in advice and directions to things we needed and wanted to see. The Tapestry in Bayeaux and the WWII museam in Caen should not be missed. One day we took a tour of the Calvados distilleries in the area for tastings and talks with the owners. Also a day trip to Honfeur was a highlight of the trip. Our last night Marian treated us to a dinner of moules and frites {mussels and fries} that was so delicious. Thank you, Marian and Fred, for a wonderful stay in Normandy.

2 couples rented this house in October partly due ..

2 couples rented this house in October partly due to it's location near the Invasion sites. The house is 400 years old and Marian is doing a great job of renovation. The property was clean and well maintained.
Setting:
Very rustic, remote, can hear a pin drop...even the cows respect your privacy! A lot of room...ideally suited for visits to the D-Day, Mont St. Michelle, Bayeux. Naturally, a car is required.
Down stairs...nice size family room
Fire place. Hot water...HOT!
Large dining table
Adequate kitchen area
Bed room and bath down stairs
Upstairs
4 bed rooms
1 BR with double bed and private bath
2 BRs with bunk beds
I BR with double bed
1 full bath
Marianne:
Very interested in you having a pleasant stay. Nice welcome basket. Orientation was helpful getting started. Very helpful in giving directions and suggestions on places to visit.
Overall I rate highly on value for the money spent
Cons:
Fireplace was the source of heat and was a bit cantankerous! Fire box small and would burn out by 2 or 3 am. Ventilation and fireplace draw left something to be desired.

Ice! Yanks like ice and it nor ice trays were nowhere to be found.

Stairs steep, requires caution going both up and down.
As it is pretty remote, would suggest that you stop at a market before arrival and pick up the very basics. Would stay there again.

Our family of 6 enjoyed a wonderful few days at this historic home in Normandy in June. The home is fully furnished and equipped. Marian is a lovely hostess and very available and willing to answer any questions we had about the area. From this location, we conveniently toured several WWII historical battlefields and Mont Saint-Michel and enjoyed the surrounding French countryside. We enjoyed the wood-burning stove that provided heat for the entire home. We heartily recommend this large home to families and anyone wanting to explore this gorgeous area.
