Secluded Holiday Gite for up to four with Private Pool In Quiet Rural Location, Near Brantome, Dordogne - The Barn

A beautiful Dordogne holiday gite set in a peaceful, restful location in St Just, Nr Brantome, Dordogne. Set on a quiet lane with 5 houses which form the hamlet of La Roche Chabrelle, part of the village of St. Just.

The gite is adjacent to the owner’s house ( but sits at right angle giving privacy) , the last building along the lane and is set in an elevated position. Our guests can enjoy some lovely views overlooking the woods and surrounding farmland. Guests will experience a relaxing and peaceful area great for exploring the many interesting surroundings. The area is quiet yet within easy reach of the towns La Tour Blanche, Brantome and Riberac, all with a good selection of shops and restaurants.

At around 800 sq.ft, this good sized two bedroom gite has been tastefully decorated and furnished to a high standard whilst retaining its traditional stone walls and beams. Perfect for those cooler spring /autumn evenings, the lounge / dining room is fitted with a wood burning stove.  High speed Wi-Fi internet access is also available throughout the property.

The open plan kitchen is well equipped and includes a hob, oven, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and coffee machine. Sleeping up to 4 guest there is a total of 2 bedrooms, in the garden bedroom you will find a king-sized bed, built in wardrobe and chest of drawers. In the courtyard bedroom there are two large single beds, a built -in wardrobe and chest of drawers. A large shower cubicle along with basin and toilet can be found in the bathroom.

Outside the gite there is a terrace that opens off the lounge and overlooks the gardens. A selection of outdoor furniture is provided. The pool and sun terrace are situated away from the buildings for privacy with great views across the valley.
The property is located approximately 2 hours to the Atlantic coast at Royan. A number of waymarked cycling and walking routes through varied countryside pass close by us. Alternatively, our guests can enjoy swimming at one of the beautiful lakes near to the market town of Riberac, where you can also enjoy a relaxing walk. The nearby river Dronne also has a number of swimming beaches where Canoe hire is also available. Please note that most of the swimming areas have lifeguards during the summer months of July and August.
Daily groceries are available locally in La Tour Blanche where you can also enjoy a wonderful great value restaurant. There is also a beautiful English owned bric-a-brac shop. A large supermarket can be found in Tocane. The regional capital of Perigueux, with its 'old town' , Gallo Roman museum and modern shopping centres, is 35 minutes by car. For a more relaxed shopping experience, Riberac (25 Minutes) has a large weekly market as well as Lidl, Aldi and Leclerc.
Other places of interest include a small wine cave in Tocane, the caves at Villars, the chateau at Bourdeilles (10  minutes), the pretty town of St Jean de-Cole, Auberterre-sur-Dronne with ia number of chateaux and Monolithic church carved out of the rock and beautiful town of Brantome which is known as the Venice of the Perigord. For our fishing loving guests there are plenty of places available locally for fishing.
