"Two Hoots Gite" was exactly as described, full of charm & character, with beautifully restored original features sitting comfortably alongside all the mod cons necessary to facilitate a French family holiday. The gite was clean, uncluttered, comfortable, homely and the owners had thoughtfully provided a starter pack of essentials, as well as a welcoming vase of flowers, on arrival. Nothing was too much bother - help & advice with days & nights out; eating out & in; shopping; activities; entertainment; translation service - excellent customer service from the owners! Close to "home", the pool, table tennis, petanque & garden provided plenty of entertainment, as did walking, blackberrying, cycling & swimming by the River Gartemps. Further afield, shopping & eating out in Chateauponsac was a treat, as was enjoying lazy days &/or action-packed water-sports at St Pardoux & Bessines lakes. Nearby, at every turn, are charming villages to explore & stop for a drink at. We would highly recommend this property to friends and relatives. Thank you, Sue & Pete, for the loveliest time!

This was the third time we visited this lovely, characterful gite and once again we were not disappointed. Already spacious and well-equipped Sue & Pete continue to add nice surprises like a woodburning stove and new courtyard/bbq area and were incredibly generous with the proceeds of their veg patch. The weather was not great this year which gave us the perfect excuse to read for hours, cook big meals (while planning what to eat at the next) and take trips to the delightful towns nearby eg, Montmorillon and Mortemart as well as seeking out local brocantes (altho' these offered slim pickings). We were particularly grateful to Sue & Pete for accepting our grumpy dog Jack who was not the playmate that Charlie deserved! He did love the walks around the village especially down by the beautiful Gartempe as much as we did. This gite is a lovely, stylish place to completely relax and we thoroughly recommend it to those who need to really getaway from the everyday scrum but enjoy the benefits that wi-fi and UK television bring.

We stayed at the gite for a week in July. It is a fantastic house and has everything you could need. On the ground floor is the kitchen and living room. As you go up stairs there is a large mezzanine with a double sofa bed if needed, bathroom and large bedroom with two (nearly) double beds. You can then go up to the second floor where there is a further 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. This is a perfect place to stay for families and groups of friends. there is a large garden to the front and a enclosed patio area to the back with BBQ and table football. There is also a pool which was great for kids whilst we could sit and relax in the sun. The Gite is located in a beautiful little village with great views. you are about 1.5 miles from the local town that has everything you could need. We hired a car from the airport for the week and went to quite a few places. We visited one of the local lakes that has a man made beach with kids play area and loads of water activities. We will definitely be back for another visit, and the kids are still raving about how much they enjoyed it. Pete and Sue, the owners live next door and are on hand with all their local knowledge and couldn't have been more helpful. Thanks again
