Victoria is the `Gite` for those looking for a quiet and relaxing holiday home just south of the river Dordogne. Situated in the region of Lot et Garonne which is adjacent to the Dordogne region, Victoria provides an ideal rental home for those who are either looking for a short holiday or a longer let whilst writing your book or looking for the perfect house to buy. Victoria provides a rustic home in agricultural heartland.
With sufficient beds for 8 people and with glorious views across the farming countryside Victoria could be the ideal retreat. It would be suitable for one or more families or friends. For those who enjoy swimming, there is a large, shared swimming pool. The surrounding area boast some of the prettiest and most delightful towns and villages as well a huge range of tourist attractions and places of interest . In addition Victoria is very close to two large supermarkets and a huge number of excellent restaurants.
Given its great age we have tried hard to maintain its rustic character and have resisted modernising it. So there is no phone, no television and no central heating … just charm and character. (There is WiFi connection, however, mobile phone reception and a DVD player with a large stock of DVD’s).
It consists of entrance hall, kitchen, three bedrooms (two very large with three beds each and one smaller with double bed. Auxiliary folding beds are also available. There are two bathrooms with WC and showers. Cooking is by bottled gas cooker and oven and a microwave cooker. Should the weather turn chilly (very unlikely in the Summer), you can light a wood fire in the enormous traditional open fireplace or alternatively, there are bottled gas room heaters.
There is a large swimming pool that is shared with the owner by arrangement depending on the number of people occupying Victoria and their ages. Children must be supervised whenever around or in the pool. Bracelet alarms are also available for hire for small children if you would like further peace of mind and to provide additional security .
The owner lives just a couple of hundred metres away and is available to provide help if and when needed.
The views are stunning and the privacy is complete. The private garden is not overlooked by anyone. On the other side of the house butting up to the kitchen, is a pretty pond with lots of wildlife in it which is generally of considerable interest to children children as they try to catch the goldfish.
