We stayed at La Jassine for two weeks in October as part of a House Swap arrangement. Prior to our arrival, we had positive communications with Paul and Sandra and decided to extend our originally planned one week stay by another week. This worked out extremely well for us.
La Jassine is a beautiful house in the countryside in Provence 70 kms north of Marseille. It is extremely well equipped and lacks for nothing. The house is just a few kilometres from Lourmarin which is one of the prettiest towns in France and which offers a range of very good eateries and artistic offerings. We visited a few of the local restaurants but in the main we cooked ourselves. Beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space to move around both inside the house and by the swimming pool.
We had good intentions regarding using the tennis court and swimming pool (both of which are very well maintained). However, whilst we rested and relaxed for quite a number of days, we also used it as a base for radiating day trips to the many exceptional scenic wonders of the area such as Milau (amazing viaduct), Nimes (old Roman amphitheatre, tower, town square, tree gardens), Avignon (massive castle), Orange (old Roman amphitheatre), Camargue (flamingos and white horses), Pont du Gard (old Roman aquaduct), Marseille (lovely buildings and scenery), L’Isle-Sur-La-Sorgue (great market in a very picturesque setting), etc
We emphatically recommend staying at La Jassine

La Jassine is a beautiful homely house in an amazing setting with lovely patio area, swimming pool and tennis court. We spent many hours relaxing and eating our meals on the patio by the swimming pool. We were there in September so the water in the pool was cold but most of us still swam every day. The nearest boulangerie with delicious croissants and pain au chocolats was a 20 minute walk or a few minute drive away, in Vaugines, where there is also a great restaurant,Le P'tit Resto which we would recommend. Loumarin is a beautiful, picturesque village with lots of little shops, cafes and restaurants. It is about a 40-50 minute walk or 10 minute drive away. The morning weekly market at Curcuron is good fun at the Place d'Etang which featured in the film 'The Good Year'. We enjoyed a challenging forest walk up the hill behind the house . A very special holiday and we would love to come back!

My, what a wonderful week we had! It restored my flagging energy levels, and was such a wonderful place for us as a family. I can't recall when last, if ever, I had my 19 year old son playing with his little brother of 8, and his sisters all together. And they even managed to persuade their dad to play Marco Polo with us which was a first. There was a lot of pool play and the tennis court was great fun.
A very special time for us. We would love to return to the magic La Jassine.

Fantastic villa in a wonderfully secluded spot. We spent a week there and the time flew by. Having our own private tennis court and the pool to cool off in after a game was fantastic! The house is well equipped and perfect for lazing around by the pool or in the hammock. However, there is lots to explore in the surrounding area - Lourmarin is lovely, but for somewhere equally nice but less touristic Cucuron is perfect.
Sandra very quick to answer any questions we had. We would definitely return at some point!

This was our 4th stay at La Jassine and we will be back. Need we say more?! The villa is comfortable and has all you need for a relaxing stay. It is surrounded by vineyards, orchards and birdsong. Hiking trails into the Luberon forest and mountains pass by the end of the driveway. Superb cycling roads and routes from the villa. There are numerous gorgeous villages with in 3-7 km, each with a weekly market. Sandra and Paul are delightful and responsive hosts. Enjoy!

La Jassine is a wonderful house, it is very peaceful and private with a lovely view yet close to some great towns, Lourmarin especially is a gem. We loved the tennis court and the space upstairs.

This was our second stay and we will return.
The property is ideally located near
Lourmarin. We visited different nearby villages each day picking up fresh items at their farmer markets. The area is rural and we always felt very safe.
We stayed for two weeks and our next visit will be longer.

We have stayed at La Jassine 3x over the past 5 years and will return again May 2018. The villa is cozy and well outfitted with a large pool and the location peaceful and private with beautiful views of surrounding vineyards, orchards and mountains. Hiking and cycling can be done from the front door. There are at least 5 quaint French villages and weekly markets within 3-6 km. Paul and Sandra are very responsive and friendly. We love La Jassine!

Our family of five spent over two weeks at La Jassine and had a wonderful time. After a couple days we were already talking about returning some day.
This is a very comfortable house with lots of room and everything that you need for a long-term stay. The location was perfect for us. It was quiet and out-of-the-way but within walking distance of Lourmarin, Vaugines and Cucuron. We spent more time in Lourmarin but loved the walk to Cucuron, going through vineyards and farms. It's not a short walk but amazing that you can do it and hardly set foot on a paved road.
We also enjoyed just relaxing at the house. The view is beautiful and you feel like you have the Luberon to yourself. The house is well taken care of, too -- this is not a barely adequate rental property but there is a fully-stocked kitchen providing everything you would need for cooking. We would love to make a return visit!
