Plouguenast is a commune in the Côtes-d'Armor department in the Bretagne (Brittany) region of north-western France. Plouguenast is a small rural town with a population of 1853 inhabitants - it is crossed by the river "Le Lié".

The town is located 35 km from Saint-Brieuc, 30 km from Lambeth, 12 km from Loudéac – you’ll be spoilt by an abundance of typically pretty Breton villages when you rent a holiday house or cottage in Plouguenast! Nearby Loudéac is a charming market town with many traditional buildings and mediaeval streets to enjoy too. The weekly market, which sells the best and freshest of local produce, is worth a visit when you stay in a Plouguenast holiday rental gite. Everywhere you go you’ll be tempted by traditional local fare! Breton gastronomy is famous for its buckwheat pancakes, or galettes, sweet varieties are called crêpes and are often washed down with a bolée of cider.

When you stay in self-catering holiday accommodation in Plouguenast, France there is plenty to see including the 16th century Église Saint-Pierre. The nave dates from the sixteenth century, as do its stunning windows, while the transepts, chancel and vestry were built in the seventeenth century. The porch and southeast aspect were finished in the eighteenth century. In 1926, the church was listed as a Historic Monument. The church is currently undergoing restoration.

The nearby Église Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Paul was built in the 19th century. It comprises a nave basilica and a bell tower.

Le manoir de la Touche-Brandineuf has been open to the public since 2005 and is also listed as a Historic Monument.

Rennes is served by Flybe and Brest by Flybe and Ryanair. St Malo is the nearest port offering Brittany Ferries from Portsmouth and Condor Ferries form Weymouth, Poole, Guernsey and Jersey. The town is well served by three county roads too – making Plouguenast easy to find! If you prefer the train, the nearest station is at Loudeac. Journey time to Paris Montparnasse is approximately 4 ½ hours – with a change at St Brieuc.

Brittany is warmer and drier than the south of England, particularly in summer. The south coast of Brittany can be scorching in July and August. However, being in the north west of France, the weather can also set be wet at any time of the year.
