Les Bouleaux is situated on the edge of Villetoureix village. The house is spacious throughout with 2 bedrooms on the ground floor and 2 bedrooms in the tower extension upstairs. The garden is very private with a substantial laurel hedge surrounding the outside space. The swimming pool (10mtrs X 5mtrs) is for your exclusive use and is 1.2mtrs deep throughout, no deep end. Garden gates either side of the property help keep the young children safely in view.

Everything is provided for your enjoyment and convenience, including broadband internet, a weekly change of bed linen and lots of play equipment. The young ones should never be telling their parents “I'm bored!”

The idea is that parents can have a holiday too!

Although you can walk to the nearest shops and restaurants, just a mile or 2 from the villa, a car is needed for access and for visiting the many local places of interest. Villetoureix is approximately 6-7 hours drive from the central English Channel ports such as Le Havre and 9-10 hours from Calais. The nearest airport is Bergerac, less than 1 hour away, served by Ryan Air and FlyBe. Car hire is available at Bergerac airport.
 

THE HOUSE - A LABOUR OF LOVE - We completed the construction of our 'dream' house in the Dordogne in the summer of 1999, after 4 years of endeavour. We designed the property ourselves and were personally involved in all stages of the building work.

HOLIDAY IN SPACE - The first thing noted by visitors is a feeling of spaciousness from the long and wide entrance hall to the main upstairs bedroom with ensuite shower room and separate sitting/dressing room. And, plenty of car parking. We believe that Les Bouleaux provides everything that visitors need to just settle in and enjoy their holiday even when the weather is not at its best. Our REVIEWS page demonstrates how we are doing!

FAR FROM THE MADDING CROWD - The balcony has proved to be a haven for 'rest and recuperation', with views over the surrounding countryside, and perhaps a good book (from our own well stocked library) a glass of wine and the strong possibility of an afternoon doze!

SOUNDS GREAT - LOOKS GREAT - If at any time you would like to leave the great outdoors for the great indoors perhaps to relax in the spacious lounge, there is a 46" television with a Humax freeview (UK) TV receiver, Bluray DVD player with 100+ films to choose from, and a CD deck. Feel free to bring your own games console which can be hooked up to the TV.

COOK A GOURMET MEAL - The kitchen is superbly equipped, with a table and 4 chairs, fully fitted with solid oak units a fridge freezer and separate drinks fridge. The built in oven is self cleaning and has a 4 ring gas hob and 1 electric hotplate (just in case the gas runs out at a critical moment.) There is a microwave oven and a dishwasher. A toaster (don't forget to bring some thick sliced bread), even an electric hand blender and a wok. Then there is the utility room with washing machine and ironing facilities.

SLEEPS 8 - Also on the ground floor are 2 large bedrooms (1 double and 1 twin) a bathroom with shower over the bath. There is a further WC on the ground floor. Upstairs in the 'Tower' you will find the main bedroom, with its' own sitting room, doors to the balcony, and ensuite shower room. Also upstairs is the 4th bedroom which has bunk beds.

SPECIAL NEEDS - The property is very accessible to the elderly and wheelchair users. The whole site is flat and the exterior doors are wide - plenty of room to manoeuvre. There are downstairs bedrooms and even the bath is partly recessed into the floor for easy entry with an extra secure grab handle.

OUTDOOR LIVING - The 'exclusive use' 10+ x 5 metre SWIMMING POOL is surrounded by ½ acre of enclosed, lawned gardens. Between the pool and the house is a paved terrace and parterre full of aromatic plants such as lavender, rosemary and thyme. A recently installed 5 mtr x 3 mtr gazebo on the terrace provides shade and an ideal venue for outdoor dining. Sun loungers, parasols and a barbecue are all there to ensure outdoor living is a reality under the Dordogne sun. After years of maturing, the garden now offers a great deal of privacy.

Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds. 20% reduction for 2 person only occupancy in April, May, September and October.
