The Château de la Flocellière in Vendée, a historic family residence, is built on top of a hill surrounded by a 15 ha park in a hilly landscape. 8 km from Puy du Fou (voted best park in the world, a must visit).

A beautiful heated swimming pool in summer is reserved for the guests of the castle and the residents of the two lodgings. The Pavilion is in a separate wing from the other residents of the castle, in a magnificent green setting.

The first origins of the castle date back to the 11th century. It was at the time an important fortress of which the high keep and the ruins of the enclosure are still the witnesses. At the start of the 17th century, the Château was transformed into a magnificent and elegant stately home. Overlooking the Vendée Bocage, it is located in the middle of a landscape of hills, woods, ponds, in a green and bucolic softness.

It is one of the few castles in France to have been inhabited continuously for nearly 1,000 years. Poets and great men have resided in this wonderful site, whose name originates from "Flower of the sky". We will tell you about the visit of Bertrand Dugusclin, the poems of Philipine, Lord of Flocellière in the 16th century, as well as the famous love story between the beautiful Elizabeth Hamilton and the Marquis Jacques de Maillé at the time of Louis XIII. The Louis XIII pavilion is an independent wing of the castle, incorporating an old defense tower, adjoining the castle courtyard and converted into a dwelling in the 17th century.

The Pavilion offers 5 rooms for 10 + (2 additional beds)
On the ground floor :

Entrance hall with stone slabs, large dining room opening onto an open and well-equipped kitchen (large-capacity oven, dishwasher, large refrigerator, food processor, coffee machine, washing machine, etc.). In front of the dining room, a small terrace for your barbecues or just for a drink or a coffee.

A beautiful wooden staircase leads first to a family room on the 1st level, a double bed (180 cm or 2 beds) and a sofa bed that can accommodate 2 children. Shower, sink and private toilet.

Then upstairs a rotunda lounge located in the pavilion tower. Beams and stone fireplace. Two comfortable sofas, large television.

Opposite, the Trianon room (160 cm bed) and the Rose room (160 cm bed or 2 beds). These two bedrooms have a shared bathroom with bath, double sink and toilet.

Then another group of 2 bedrooms: Alcove and its 180cm bed (or 2 beds) and Charrette with a double bed (160cm) A sofa can be used as an additional bed for a child. A shower and toilet serve these two bedrooms.

Optional rental: At the entrance to the Pavilion, a 6th independent bedroom, apartment type with kitchenette, a double bed (200 cm) and a sofa bed that can accommodate 2 adults or 2 children. Walk-in shower, wc and sink. Windows overlooking the swimming pool and the vegetable garden.

Optional rental: in the courtyard of the castle, an independent apartment consisting of a living room with double bed (180 cm or 2 beds) and a small bedroom with 1 bunk bed, a bathroom with bath, sink and toilet and a nice kitchenette.

Le Puy du Fou at 8km, (ask for your seats).
