As a first time traveler to France, I could not have chosen a more perfect place to stay. Maison de Savornin is a lovely villa in the heart of Provence and offers all the comforts of home along with stunning views of the Provence countryside just outside it's windows. I was traveling with two other friends so each of us enjoyed the privacy of our own bedroom. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud which made it very tempting to sleep the morning away! Every aspect of the villa from the well-appointed kitchen to the living room with a cozy fireplace, to the private outdoor garden, provided a relaxing and welcoming space for our group. Newly remodeled, every room is immaculate with tiled floors and pleasantly decorated. The spacious bathrooms accommodated us perfectly. The villa is situated in the heart of picturesque Lourmarin where the sights and sounds of this historical village easily lured us out into it's narrow streets each day. There are many cafes, boutiques, art galleries and restaurants a short walk from the front door making it easy to explore. Market day was a highlight of my visit to Lourmarin where the streets become lined with vendors selling a variety of unique, delicious, and colorful items. Oh, and the Mediterranean is a short ninety minute drive from Lourmarin...amazing! Additionally, if we had any questions or concerns during our stay, Walter was readily available and delighted to assist us. Perhaps I will be fortunate to return to this magical place again one day. Thank you Maison de Savornin for a most memorable holiday!

C’est Magnifique! The Maison de Savornin exceeded all of our expectations. From the ideal in-village location, to the luxurious ambience and attention to detail of the entire home, to the highest-quality and friendly management who served all of our needs—we could not have been more content. We rented this home for five months in the fall and winter. One of many aspects that I love about Provence in the winter is the ample sun, compared to much of Europe. This home takes advantage of all that sun with its bright, spacious rooms and amazing views. We enjoyed the huge picture windows of the great room and became totally ensconced by the fire in the cozy living room. Although we did not take full advantage of the garden or pool, its setup with the pergola and summer kitchen optimizes outdoor living and entertainment. Lourmarin in particular offers winter pleasures including its lively Friday markets, amazing year-round restaurants, galleries, and boutiques. The beautiful village gets dressed up in December with pine trees lining the streets and lovely overhead lights, and it is delightful to stroll the narrow, cobbled streets right from the door. With numerous restaurants, Café Gaby, an incredible bakery, artist Savornin’s atelier and Gerard Isirdi’s studio, the Château de Lourmarin, and the Friday market all just a short stroll away, the location is perfect. It is also convenient for day trips to other Provençal villages, Verdon Gorge, Aix-en-Provence, and the Mediterranean. Walter, the Manager and his wife M.C were delightful. They addressed every concern we had during our stay and were quick to respond to questions and offer suggestions to make our visit extra special. M.C runs a handy concierge service for tours, catering, renting bicycles and providing airport transfers. This was particularly helpful for us when we had visitors. From start to finish Walter and M.C. truly enhanced our overall experience. We hope one day to return to the Maison de Savornin. This is clearly a five-star home in a five-star village.

Autumn Break. We stayed in this wonderful property with our daughter, son in law and two teenage grandchildren over the mid-term break. My husband and I don't do summer heat anymore and this time of year in Provence is delightful. Lunch outside on the terrace under a sunny bright sky and cooler evenings. The house was immaculate. It's recently renovated, bathrooms are large and spacious with walk in showers. Beds were new & large. It's very spacious and could easily accommodate the 6 of us. Two dishwashers, and a kitchen as well set up & organised as my own! The teenagers could retreat to the snug TV room away from the adults while we sat by the huge fire each evening. The location of the property is wonderful, 2 minute walk to pick up fresh bread in the morning, 3 minute walk to sit and have a coffee. We could peel away for an hour or two of people watching or browsing in the large range of shops and art galleries in the village. Lots of restaurants open each evening that we could walk to. We will be pushing the repeat button on this property again. We had a very relaxing time with our family, it's an easy house to hang up your hat for a week or more.

Lourmarin is my favorite village in Provence and we know it well, having traveled here for long and short stays for twenty years. This beautiful village house is, hands down, our favorite place in the Luberon to hang our hats. We stayed in this lovely home for several weeks in August and September. There are three in our family and we had several guests during our stay. First, the house is immaculately clean, comfortable, and well-equipped (barring a few kitchen tools and table linens which, I am told, were added). The common areas and the bedrooms are spacious and bright. The full bathrooms are very large and very nicely appointed. Considering the number of people the home can accommodate, there is adequate space to have privacy and multiple areas to socialize. We spent much of our time outdoors, lounging around the pristine pool and eating meals at the large table near the pool. The downstairs kitchen and toilet were especially helpful for this location. We enjoy cooking and found the kitchen a very inviting place to prepare our feasts! The cupboards are filled with very nice dishes and glasses for the crowd you might invite to your feast, too. The long table upstairs was great for our meals (as well as our work—I set up my laptop there for writing and was very inspired!). The AC was adequate and the gorgeous fireplace certainly encourages us to return in the colder months. Second, the location of the home—on the main street through the village—is ideal to soak up village life but it is also located at the quiet end of the street so it is easy to relax and sleep soundly. One can quite literally roll out of bed and be at the local Boulangerie purchasing croissants before the table is set. A Nespresso machine makes great espressos in your own vacation home to accompany your bakery goods. Or, a wee bit further is Café Gaby and several other cafés where you will find goods to quench your morning thirst and fortify you for your day’s adventure (and provide you with the best people watching in the area!). Third, there are plenty of things to do in Lourmarin once you can wrench yourself away from the pool. Consider the chateau, shopping, gallery hopping, a tour of the village filled with its fascinating history, or winetasting—all within walking distance. The Friday morning market is considered the best in the area and, during the summer months, the Tuesday evening market is a real treat. (Markets in neighboring villages are also wonderful.) Venture a little further in your car and there is a wealth of beauty and sight-seeing to satisfy even the toughest-to-please guests. Lourmarin is perfectly located to act as your hub during vacation. Finally, Walter, the caretaker, ensures that all your needs are met. He is a tremendous asset! Lourmarin captured our hearts and the Maison de Savornin is my top choice for a large family or group of friends. We loved it and continue to recommend it!

Fabulous family house in beautiful location! We had a brilliant family holiday in this picturesque and tranquil village. Our accommodation was perfect with lots of space, comfortable beds and lovely bathrooms. The kitchen and dining area were ideal with a long table for big family meals in the evenings. We loved the outside space too. The pool was great for the children and the covered terrace was perfect for al fresco lunches in the shade. Having the 'cave' downstairs by the pool with a little additional kitchen and extra toilet and laundry facilities made it very comfortable. The owners have furnished the house stylishly and it makes for a very relaxing stay. The house is perfectly located and within walking distance of the bars, restaurants, children's playground, churches and castle. We enjoyed the weekly market, exploring the lanes and the kids loved our morning visits to the boulangerie for fresh croissants and bread! Conveniently, there is a fantastic pizzeria a stone's throw from the house... and our evening aperitifs at the local bar in the centre of the village quickly became de rigueur! Driving around the region is also easy and you can visit nearby towns (they all have lovely markets!). There are lots of vineyards too which would be great to visit if you're into your wine and of course, the breathtaking views of the countryside make you feel completely peaceful. The owner provided great customer service and was very responsive and accommodating. We had a fabulous time, will be going back and would recommend it to others looking for a relaxing holiday in a truly beautiful part of the world!

Beautiful house in a genuine French Village. We stayed in Maison de Savornin during a hot French Summer. It was amazing! The village of [Lourmarin] is stunning, with its weekly market where we bought local foods and gifts, beautiful walks straight from the door of the house, to the quaint, genuine little restaurants and bars, down little alleyways to sitting on the square. We even took local advice and went wine tasting at the local wineries. Then there was the beautiful house to return to, cool and organised. The lovely garden with its pool, was just fantastic to sit in and the kids loved having the pool to return to. We grilled and ate dinner out there almost every evening ... it was truly lovely. The house itself has loads of space, but also with private nooks and crannies for those who wanted to escape and read a book. The bedrooms were lovely and the bathrooms were modern, with plenty of hot water. The kitchen and dining area are open plan (and very organised with everything you need to make delicious dinners with the market food you’ve bought!) so we would chat, while preparing. In the morning, the kids would pop off to the shops to get us fresh baked croissants and we would sit and prepare for our day. It was just so relaxing and beautiful! We loved our stay in [the] Luberon at this beautiful house!
