The main house was built as a farm in the first half of the 18th century. The character has been preserved in several details, while all modern comfort is added. The quiet location, set back from a small road in open countryside, with spectacular views in every direction, is overwhelming. The walls are solid stone and ceilings are mainly beamed with ancient oak and poplar. Floors are polished oak or chestnut or tiles.
The adjacent gîte has been renovated in 2012 from an old barn, a few steps away from the main house. This enlarges the privacy, when staying there with larger groups.
The house offers lots of outdoor terrain, to sit and relax, to play all kind of games and sports, and last but not least to enjoy the private swimming pool (36' x 16'). The terrace on the east-side is a wonderful place for breakfast; on the west side you can spend the whole night on the romantic terrace, dining and drinking, and catch a spectacular sunset.
Nearby is the unspoilt village of Lamothe Fénelon, with medieval church and a restaurant, a small lake and children's playground. To Payrac is 4 miles, with a superb village shop, bakery (English speaking), pharmacy, doctor and three restaurants.
Two beautiful towns (Souillac and Gourdon) are at 10 miles with supermarkets and all amenities.
The Dordogne river is a 10 minutes drive and the property is well situated for the major tourist attractions of the Lot and Dordogne region.
And, coming home after a long trip or a walking tour in the hills, you will appreciate the relaxing atmosphere of the property once again.

• Deposit at booking 25% of rental price, remainder is due 8 weeks before arrival, plus a damage deposit of £ 450 . If booking is less than 8 weeks before rental period, full payment is required.
• Changeover day Sunday, to help you to avoid heavy traffic on Saturdays in France.
• House is available to incoming visitors from 4.30 pm.
• Guests are to vacate house by 10.00 am.
• Flexibility with dates, short lets etc. outside main season, on demand.
• The house is cleaned before each letting.
