Welcome to the heart of rural France. Situated in the picturesque Charentaise village of Chaignepain, perfectly placed to provide the peace and tranquility of rural France and easy access to a wealth of local attractions and amenities. Surrounded by fields of corn and sunflowers Chaignepain is the perfect place to explore the charms of Poitou Charentes.

Our beautiful gîtes are recently refreshed and furnished with luxury in mind. Converted from ancient goat houses dating back to 1803, they are full of rustic charm while providing every comfort you would wish for in a home away from home. The 5 gites provide accommodation for up to 26 people and can be booked in peak high season as a complex for private use. Outside of these dates gites can be booked individually or in any combination.

From October to April Gites are available for long term winter letting for a minimum of two months, up to 7 months, please contact us for more information and pricing.

There is a fantastic heated, fully tiled, safety fenced swimming pool 10 x 5 metres with plenty of sun loungers, parasols and inflatables. The garden contains a children’s swing and slide, a wendy house, swingball, outdoor table tennis and there is also a games room with air hockey & table football as well as bookshelves with books, board games and DVDs. We have lots of bikes including child sizes & safety helmets.

Each gite has a fitted kitchen, fully stocked with all crockery, cutlery, glassware etc. There is a kettle, microwave, toaster, fridge/freezer and full normal size gas oven and hob. Each gite has satellite TV so you can watch all the normal UK channels or if you prefer you can watch French TV. DVD Players are provided and WiFi is available so you can keep up with your emails if you wish – please note the signal can be poor in this area and will not always be strong enough to stream films/video clips etc. Each gite has its own lounge and dining area inside as well as an outdoor dining terrace with patio furniture and BBQ.

All bedrooms have shelves and hanging rails, all bedding & towels are provided free of charge including pool towels. Cots, highchairs and safety gates are available on request. Unfortunately we are not able to accept pets unless by prior arrangement and only in low season October –April.

We have a communal laundry room with washing machines and ironing equipment and a communal bathroom with a bath if you prefer this to a shower. We include a welcome pack with the basics and offer a communal fridge and freezer with some extra supplies on an honesty box basis. If you require a bigger shop prior to your arrival this can be arranged upon request.

The Poitou-Charentes region of western France is one of the sunniest regions in the country and offers a variety of possibilities for families, adventurers, and romantic escapes alike.

LES VIGNES (SLEEPS 4)
This 2 bedroom gite has a small vine covered patio area with garden furniture & a charcoal BBQ. You enter into the open plan kitchen, lounge, diner with exposed stone walls and log burner. On the first floor are a double bedroom and a twin bedroom as well as a bathroom with a shower. Sleeps up to 4 + a baby
