Luxury Holiday Chateau With Private Heated Pool In Dignac, Near Angouleme Reviews

What a beautiful house in fantastic grounds. The photo's make the house look good, but the reality is better, clean, grand, well equipped and spacious, what more can I say.

Daily houskeeping and catering made it a proper holiday.

So we were a family group of 4 children (aged 3 -8) and 6 adults, my wife and I, my sister and her husband and the kids grandparents and as usual the pressure is on to find something that works for everyone. Well this place is it! The house is really nice, so ancient but well presented. Old world charm and modern bathrooms and kitchen, just what you need.

The gardens, are beautiful and offer lots of options for a group or if you want to get away on your own there are nice shady spots. A stand out for us was the BBQ area, big, plenty of shade and lovely pond with fountain, we spent hours eating talking, watching the kids, playing games, good family stuff.

What a place, it was better then expected and really delivered. We would recommend it, BIG TICK.

Our group of 7 adults stayed at Chateau Du Mas in July 2014. We chose it because it looks really impressive, but were a little concerned that it was too child orientated, given the descriptions and photo's, but we agreed to give it a go.

A beautiiful, well kept and grand house, set in lovely gardens and if we had younger children they would have been really happy, but as a group of adults we were too. The house is big enough that we just didn't use the childrens spaces, and the house is presented for adults, with nice furnishings set in beutiful rooms.

The pool is large, warm and set on a big terrace that gave us complete privacy and unusually both shaded areas with a nice tented pavillion and later in the day one half of the pool deck is naturally shaded and full sun if you want it. For us this was a real benefit as one of our group was sun intolerant and normally is off on there own whilst the rest of us sun lovers soak it up. This time we could all be together and it really worked.

There are lots of good things to say and no bad ones. The question is would we go back and this is an unqualified yes.

This house is stunning, really spectacular and we felt privaleged to have been able to stay, our family including the children loved it.

In terms of facilities, it has everything and more than you could expect, good quality towells, bedding, well stocked kitchen, toys for the children, and the pool has obviously been well thought out, with a covered area.

With younger children, (3-7) we wanted a holiday property with some degree of local knowledge and management. The concern is that with the service comes intrusion, but Nick and Takayla have got it just right, they were available when we wanted but not intrusive in any way. They felt very welcomed into their beautiful house.

This is the best self catering holidays we have had. Chateau Du Mas feels warm, friendly and comfortable yet still has the WOW factor!
