Lovely Dordogne Holiday Cottages with Shared Pool near Sarlat ~ The Cottage Reviews

Lovely area to visit, lots to do irrespective of weather. Need at least a fortnight to discover even the highlights of the Sarlat area. The accommodation in The Cottage is excellent - clean, comfortable, well maintained, beautifully appointed and well equipped. The views from the Cottage are lovely, rolling countryside and woodland out towards the Dordogne valley and beyond. A very peaceful and relaxing spot. We received a warm welcome from Chris who directed us to a nearby restaurant which fitted the bill nicely after arriving travel weary and hungry. Discreet and friendly help was offered when needed during our stay. The welcome pack was very informative and helpful in suggesting places to visit and dine, along with other helpful tips for making the most of our visit. In summary, highly recommended.

Really can't fault what was a fantastic holiday. Aside from the a beautiful location which we last visited 10 years ago and immediately wondered why we had left it so long , the gite was superb. Kate & Chris are lovely hosts and it is very obvious they take great pride in the gites and gardens. Always on hand to offer advice on days out , rectify any minor issues or just chat ! Our cottage was spotless and had all the equipment that you would need. Combined with a lovely pool , rolling lawns and enough play equipment to keep the children entertained ( table tennis , badminton , trampoline etc ) it ticked all the boxes. (Plus the view is truly breathtaking. ) If you are planning to visit the Dordogne and need a great base camp then i could not recommend these gites enough. Smith R.

We stayed here for 6 nights across the Easter Holidays. The location is amazing, a central located to visit Sarlat-la-Canéda, all the outstanding villages and gardens across the Dordone, including Beynac, Château de Marqueyssac, Eyrignac et ses Jardins en Dordogne, Rocamadour. It was easy to cover all these locations and more. After a full day out we loved to head back to the piece and quite of the house. The view down the valley was just picturesque. The house it’s self is comfortable, well equipped and we just made dinner in the evening and enjoyed the views. A amazing based for a memorable family holiday, met Chris a few times and he was always helpful and willing to provide advice on the local area. If you are looking to visit all these amazing places or just relax in a top quality property book this one.

We had the good fortune to spend 4 nights at this charming and peaceful get away. The owners were very gracious and the house was clean and spacious. There was a very nice patio and a beautiful yard with gorgeous scenery! The owners, Kate and Chris, sent us detailed information about how to find the property and also had a very detailed and informative book that provided us all the information we needed including nearby grocery stores. how to operate the washer, wifi password, etc. Chris left a cell number in case we needed anything. He checked in briefly the second day we were there to make sure everything was OK which we appreciated. There were even bottles of wine we could purchase at a low price if we wanted to. We would love to come back here for a longer visit. Thank you both for a wonderful stay!

We have just returned from two weeks in The Cottage and had such a fantastic time that on our last day we booked again for a three-week stay next June. We love the Dordogne and have had several very enjoyable holidays in the area but finding this place has really put the icing on the cake!. It is fabulous, the accommodation is extremely clean and comfortable and is very well equipped, the private outside area is perfect for sitting out and for eating, with a beautifully scented honeysuckle and a lovely shady Indian Bean tree. The lawned area is huge and well maintained and the pool is lovely with ample loungers and umbrellas for everyone staying.

However what really sets La Ferme de la Tour apart are the superb views, mile upon mile of the most glorious countryside which can be appreciated and enjoyed not only from outside but also from the living room of The Cottage and, more particularly, from the bedroom. it was amazing to wake up to such an incredibly stunning and picturesque view, especially on a lovely sunny morning.

We do a lot of walking and there are so many great walking routes right on the doorstep we were spoiled for choice, although it was also most tempting to stay put and take advantage of the peace and quiet or cool down in the pool which also benefits from the pretty views.

Chris and Kate the owners are so friendly and helpful, the information and recommendations provided are very useful and they are justifiably proud of the amazing work they have carried out at the property since buying 15 years ago, including renovating the existing farmhouse accommodation and converting two barns. Chris showed us round the other gites and it is clear that all the work has been done very sympathetically and to a really high standard, there are lovely touches and well thought out individual features throughout.

We are so glad we chose to holiday here and cannot wait to go back!

The area very beautiful. Lots to do . Plenty of lovely gardens, cannoeing , visiting the french markets and sampling the french food.

The property was extremely clean and well looked after. The swimming pool great and well looked after.

Lovely to have the bar b que and lovely location to just sit and relax.

Idyllic setting, wonderful views, clear starlit sky at night beautiful cottage spotlessly clean , comfy beds, welcoming & very friendly Owners who are always on hand if needed. Our holiday was like a dream come true very relaxing but with lovely walks & canoeing close by. Thank you Kate & Chris for a wonderful holiday. We will be back.

The property had fantastic views, and the complete site was kept in pristine condition. Everywhere beautifully clean and tidy. Excellent pool area. Gite was very well equipped, comfortable, and in excellent condition. It contained a folder with comprehensive information of the area. Our only problem was the return of our deposit because the owner forgot we were leaving when we did. This was quite annoying at the time, but as soon as we informed the owner we had left he immediately returned our deposit
