Beautiful House with Amazing views of The Dordogne and La Roque Gageac - Le Mirador Reviews

Two couples spent nearly a week at this lovely house in early October, overlooking La Roque Gageac and the Dordogne River. It was hard to pull ourselves away from the front porch and upstairs terrace -- the views really are stunning! We had the privilege to meet the owner of the house, as well as his wife and daughter - wonderful people who all made us feel very much at home. The house was clean, cozy, and met our needs quite well. Access to the upstairs bedroom is up a winding staircase, and access to the house itself is up a small footpath. This worked fine for us, but someone with mobility issues could be challenged. Do take advantage of all the area has to offer! The maps in the house with walking trails enabled us to trek for miles (kilometers!) through the beautiful countryside, and the kayak trip down the Dordogne River was a high point of our trip. Our only disappointment -- we didn't think to make an advance reservation at the La Belle Etoile Restaurant since we were there in the off-season, and unfortunately, it was full. So do book early. But we had several very enjoyable meals at La Plume D'Oie Restaurant, which was recently taken over by a very nice young couple from Northern France. All in all, a wonderful experience in La Roque Gageac! Thank you David!
