A lovely house in a brilliant location


We had a wonderful holiday in Sarlat. The house has been tastefully renovated and decorated so it combines a lovely cottage feel with all mod cons. It's a two bedroomed house with a fantastic, large open plan space downstairs. There's a great, well-equipped kitchen and one of the nice bathrooms has a bath, which is not always a given. There's a terrace overlooking the rooftops which gets the afternoon sun and there's plenty of space in the garden too.

The house is brilliantly positioned on a hillside overlooking the town, but a little alley way means you can walk down to the town centre in two minutes. The location and the fact that the house is detached gives a nice, secluded feel while still being in easy reach of the restaurants and shops of the beautiful old town. Although a car is necessary if you want to get out into the countryside and see other villages, my husband and I managed perfectly well without a car - arriving by train from Bordeaux and leaving via bus to Souillac.

Our host was prompt and charming in dealing with our queries at booking stage and very helpful and thoughtful in making our stay comfortable and relaxing. Thoroughly recommended.
