Wow! Wha..
Delightful Dordogne Cottage
5 of 5
Wow! What a fantastic place! We had rainy, dreary weather during most of our week in the Dordogne and really enjoyed our cozy, yet spacious cottage. Eitan and Gabriella were perfect hosts and thought of everything. We were exhausted when we arrived after dealing with numerous summer traffic delays. We were so happy when our hosts explained all of the "goodies" that they had stocked the kitchen with for our arrival- eggs, fresh bread, milk, coffee, tea, cream, yogurt, cheese, meats, beer, wine, water, juice, butter, and more. It was such a nice surprise. There was also a good supply of paper towels, toilet paper, detergents, and cleaning supplies. They even had scented, French soaps for us! Beds were extremely comfortable and there were plenty of fluffy towels. The shower was great. The cottage is totally renovated with new furnishings. We enjoyed sitting out at the patio table and looking over the beautiful countryside. Cro Bique is in a very peaceful, convenient location. It's possible to walk to Beynac Castle, though the walk involves some fairly strenuous climbing. Alternative, the drive to the castle is less than five minutes. The closest grocery store is in St. Cyprien, about a 10 minute drive. You can get everything you need there. We enjoyed the restaurant on the river in Beynac, especially the duck. The canoe trip from Domme to Beynac is spectacular. We absolutely loved our week at Cro Bique and hope to return again sometime in the near future. Thank you Eitan and Gabriella for your wonderful hospitality and for making our week in the Dordogne so comfortable.
