God's Mills - Grinding in Bardos
The three of us and our dog stayed in this beautiful property for 3 weeks and enjoyed every minute. Everything was just right here: the wonderful, lush garden, which we weren't able to explore completely until the end, it was so big and rich; the rooms were spotlessly clean, spacious and comfortable; the kitchen had everything you could need; each bedroom had its own bathroom (and shower, not bathtub - great!) - priceless; washing machine and drying facilities; a wonderful place outside to eat and dream; if you wanted: German TV; absolute peace and quiet; the darkness all around made it possible to see a magical starry sky; supermarkets close enough; Biarritz and other excursion destinations were easy to get to. In the evenings, curious lizards and grasshoppers stopped by now and again. A place to feel good and relax, but close enough to the attractions in the area so that both were possible: relaxation and getting to know the extremely exciting Basque culture. The contact on site was unobtrusive and very pleasant; By a happy coincidence, the landlords themselves moved into the second house for a few days three days before our departure, so that we were able to continue the already excellent communication immediately. We also learned a few interesting facts about the mill and its history. What the landlords couldn't do was that the weather didn't let us down, we had wonderful sunshine. It was very hot at times, but the thick walls of the mill helped us not to run away. If you're looking for something special and value amenities, peace and quiet, and lots of nature, this is the place for you! If we don't come back, it's only because our age might not allow us to make the long 1800 km drive. But who knows: if we come to this area again, there's no question that we'll try to stay at the Moulin d'Iburre! Thank you very much for everything!
