We at Les Chouettes follow local regulations for our cleaning and sterilising of our cottage and barn to ensure your safety during this stressful period.
The cottage is a great getaway for couples or small families as it offers everything you need to a fabulous holiday away from it all.
Les Chouettes is a typical Perigoridian Cottage. It is a restored farmhouse. It offers a tranquil environment, charming French decor, a great private pool for those warm sunny days which overlooks a walnut orchard. Combined, the 2 properties accomodate up to 15 guests.
THE COTTAGE:
The beautifully renovated 250 year old four bedroom, two bathroom cottage outside Tremolat at Les Chouettes, has two lounges, a big kitchen, a large swimming pool and an outdoor entertainment area.
This unit sleeps 8 people comfortably. Rent alone, or if you have a big group, the adjacent barn which sleeps eight, is an additional option.
This is a perfect spot from which to explore the Dordogne Valley and the surrounding villages. Be sure to download our guide to the area so you can plan your holiday. Paleontological caves, medieval castles, water sports a Michelin Star restaurant, the foie gras, truffles and many markets in the surrounding villages will keep you entertained for your stay.
On those warm summer days, cool off on the huge swimming pool, and on this chilly winter nights cosy up to the fireplace.
You won’t want for anything in the Dordogne. Minimum 4 night stays.

The Lounge Area
Families have gathered together around a game of scrabble, enjoyed sitting around the crackling fire while indulging in a fine glass of French wine or simply just sat and read a good book in our warm lounge area. The lounge comprises of comfy couches, chairs, flat screen HD TV, DVD player, DVDs and music.
The Kitchen
The large kitchen/dining area at Les Chouettes can be best described as the heart of the home. Perfectly capturing the French charm, this kitchen is where everyone gathers for deliciously prepared meals. The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove top, oven, fridge/freezer, kettle, coffee maker, toaster, country table, crockery, cutlery for eight and barbecue utensils. The Pool
There is nothing more refreshing than diving into a cool pool when the sun is out. Take advantage of our beautiful crystal clear pool on those French summer days. We have deck chairs set out around the pool with umbrellas to keep you cool. Why not have a barbeque while sipping on some French wine or enjoy a gin and tonic around or in the pool. Pure bliss!
The Garden
Enjoy relaxing under the trees in our beautifully well kept garden. We have a volleyball net to entertain the adults & children and for you to be able to fit in a bit of exercise while on holiday as well as a ping pong table to challenge your family. Why not pack a picnic basket and enjoy the tranquil beauty of the garden or setup your lunch on our shaded patio.
LOCAL AREA:
There is much to explore in the Dordogne. The village of Tremolat is only a 20 minute walk has its own Boulangerie, a Pizzeria, a Bistro, a Wine Bar and a fabulous Michelin Star restaurant. Les Chouettes is within easy driving distance from Bordeaux, Sarlat-la-Caneda, Bergerac, Lalinde, Le Bugue and Perigueux, and is only 1 km from Tremolat village in the Dordogne valley of Aquitaine.
Visit Sarlat for its wonderful market on a Wednesday and Saturday or simply enjoy the ambiance of this beautiful town.
Beynac Castle and its lovely village is worth a visit as well as a trip up the Dordogne River in a Gabarre(an old trade boat) What a great way to get an insight to the castles and chateaux of the area.
A visit to Les Eyzies is a must as well as a visit to the Lascaux Caves. These caves contain some of the oldest and finest prehistoric art in the world. The cave paintings, which mainly depict animals, are some 17,000 years old and seem to have a ritual purpose. For preservation reasons, the public may only visit a well-executed replica called Lascaux 2.
