Le Petit Manoir is an architect designed conversion (2015) of a traditional stone 'maison de l'intendant' situated in the grounds of one of the area's most magnificent manoirs, just 800m from beautiful unspoilt sandy beaches. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, the house is well-insulated and has a wood burning stove. There is free Wi-fi access.
The conversion and furnishings were undertaken by award-winning architect Gérard d'André, the owner of le manoir de Surville with his wife Christine.
The manor and grounds are situated in the parc natural du havre de Surville, which is a protected area of outstanding beauty with many rare species of flora, fauna and wildfowl. The long sandy beaches are protected by dunes and they remain uncrowded even in summer. Shellfish can be gathered on foot at low tides. The market towns of Portbail, La Haye du Puits and Barneville are within easy driving distance (10 minutes) and have a good selection of shops and restaurants as well as supermarkets and a weekly street market. Further afield, the Mont St. Michel, Bayeux, Barfleur and the Nez de Jobourg make interesting day trips and there are daily ferries to Jersey and Guernsey.
