This is my second year staying at the gites of Paul and Phillipa and the place is perfect. Stroll or kayak the Vezere, enjoy fine cuisine and local wines, walk to prehistoric sites, visit local markets or just sit by the pool overlooking Le Roque de Christophe and listen to the cuckoo call. The hosts are attentive and warm yet there is privacy and solitude for those who seek it. Perfect place!
A Norwegian Family (from 8 to 71 years old) had a fantastic week in this superb villa with 6 en-suite bedrooms, a large garden and a private pool. The house has everything you need for a perfect holiday. Phillipa and Paul are ideal hosts. Invisible, but always there when needed. We thank them both for helping us with a wonderful birthdaycake - and we really appreciated the arrival gift! The area has lots of exciting activities. We were canoing on both rivers, Zevere and Dordogne; we visited a climbing park and 2 prehistoric parks - and spent several hours at Saint Christophe - almost next door to the house. We would not hesitate a second to recommend this villa. Value for Money! Knut T., Paradis, Norway
Our two families had a great week at Le Manior. Communication with Philippa and Paul beforehand was a good level of detail and timely. The house is well proportioned with generous sized rooms which are all en suite. The house is lovely and historic with mature gardens. The secure pool with steps made access for our kids easy. The kitchen is large and well equipped. The house was spotless when we arrived. It is well located very close to the many attractions in the Dordogne which Philippa and Paul were happy to help with suggestions and recommendations for. Best for our family was the beautifully clean river 5 mins walk away for wild swimming and beach play. Thanks so much Philippa and Paul
The house is marked on google maps which made our journey even simpler. On arrival we were warmly welcomed to the house by Paul and Philippa. We were a group of 7 adults and 4 children – aged 8 to 11. The house is very well equipped and maintained. It’s a treat that all the bedrooms have ensuites. The pool provided a welcome relief from the high temperatures. The kids loved played with inflatables left by the previous people and their own ( enjoy the boat :) ) we also played table tennis under the shade of a walnut tree. The house has lots of room for us - we could sit together in the kitchen or out on the patio. We all had breakfast round the big table in the kitchen. A daily walk to the local bread shop to collect croissants / pain au chocolate was a must during our stay. We also walked to the Roc St Christopher (my son loved the snack bar there) and the local restaurant. The restaurant owners looked after us so well for our celebration and the food was delicious. The owners were really helpful, including making an appointment at the local doctor for one of our group. The owners are on site but completely unobtrusive. We absolutely loved our stay at the house. The house is in a great location – may places to visit within a short drive. The stars at night are wonderful.
