Many people dream of living on a winery; a romantic illusion of strolling through carefully tended vines sipping your vintages within the shadows of a sprawling château. Of course, dreams like this seldom come true, but now you have a chance to at least pretend for a while …

Le Manoir de Lourmarin welcomes you and your family or friends for one or many weeks of rest and relaxation. With its seven elegant and stylish bedrooms with private bathrooms, its two living rooms, its two kitchens, its wonderful outside patio with shadow, its tennis court and its majestic swimming pool, you will enjoy the holidays of your dream meanwhile experiencing vineyard life in Provence.

The building is surrounded by olive groves and oak forests nestled by the river L’Aigue Brun whose century-old deposits of limestone had created a terroir similar to that at Châteauneuf-du-Pape, about 80km to the north-west. Believed to be a former Roman site where Emperor Constantin took the natural waters, the three fountains on the property bare testament to this legacy, one of them being the symbol of their wines.

Originally a farm, Le Manoir de Lourmarin has been producing wine for about 40 years. A previous owner, Allen Chevalier, established the reputation of Le Manoir de Lourmarin, and from 1990 -2011 produced some of the most esteemed vintages in the AOC Luberon. It is not hard to understand what captivated the Bagnis family, who bought and began renovating the property in 2016. (Whenever the house is rented, the Bagnis family lives in the newly converted pied-a-terre above their tastefully restored tasting room.)

Perhaps the greatest asset of the chateau is its location in Provence - it's very central. The property is just a 5-minute walk from the picturesque town of Lourmarin, which is known as the cultural hub of the Luberon and said to have the best weekly market in the area.

From Lourmarin it is possible to explore several natural parks like Les Alpilles (in St-Rémy), La Camargue with its wild horses (in Sainte-Marie-De-La Mer), and the Gorges du Verdon park, one of the most beautiful canyon in France. All are only an hour or 90 minutes' drive from Lourmarin.

Other picturesque pillages within a few minutes’ drive include Cucuron, Ansouis and Vaugine. Aix-en-Provence is less than 30 minutes away and the Aix TGV station and Marseilles Marignan Airport are within an hour’s drive.

Special Rental Conditions

The change-over day for this property is Saturday. Bookings will be taken for a week (7 nights) at a time. Submit your booking enquiry to receive a summary by email. We will get back to you as soon as possible to confirm your request.

To reserve the dates, we require a 50% deposit, with the balance to be paid at least 30 days prior to your check-in date. By paying the deposit, you are agreeing to our Terms and Conditions (https://rentourhomeinprovence.com/ts-cs/).

We also ask for a refundable €1,000 security/breakages deposit, payable with the final balance payment (or in cash on arrival by prior arrangement), which will be returned to you within 7 days if the property is vacated in good order at check-out.
