* The major renovation has brought the facilities up to exacting modern standards whilst preserving the charm and tranquility of the wider surrounding fields and woodland. During 2022 it was again awarded a 4-star rating by the local tourist board and as an escape from the hustle and bustle of urban life it will hopefully exceed all expectations.
* The Maison-du-Pain (literally Bread House) is estimated to be at least 150-years old and with the new extension consists of five bedrooms and three bathrooms, a well-appointed kitchen and a large dining / living area to augment the two private terraces. The bedrooms range from a large four-poster en-suite (with its own quiet terrace) through a spacious open-beamed room with private balcony and another double with exposed beams located within the old part of the building. A cosy children’s room sleeps up to three whilst a loft room with exposed timbers offers a great retreat for a teenager, so there is ample space for one or two extended families.
* Outside there is a large private terrace and seating area, partially covered, complete with BBQ and the original bread oven itself. * During your stay you will enjoy exclusive use of the large (12m x 6m) heated pool, adjacent to which is a summer kitchen that provides for the preparation and cooking of meals. The pool area enjoys plenty of chairs and loungers for sun-worshipers, alongside shady nooks for the more sensitive of skin, and the shower, toilet and games facilities may result in most of your time being spent in this well-appointed area.
* The nearby village of Rouffignac is a short drive (or pleasant walk) away and can provide everything from your daily baguette to your weekly shop. Facilities include a boulangerie (specialising in exquisite pastries), a butcher and a supermarket, whilst several bar / restaurants provide a pleasant distraction, as does the busy weekly market on Sunday mornings. Although this market is held throughout the year, at the height of season it is not to be missed and the same market square hosts a number of night markets and other events over July and August. Rouffignac even has its own grotte (‘cave of the hundred mammoths’) and is part of one of the most extensive underground systems in the region.

Saturday changeover - please depart by 10.00am to allow cleaning for subsequent guests; arrival after 5.00pm but bag drop-off OK before then by prior agreement.
