Perfect and relaxing little home
It was easy and pleasant to book this property, I stayed for two weeks and would have loved to extend my stay even longer as there was a lot to see around and the house felt like home. Of course car is needed to travel around. Many interesting sights and historical monuments in a circle of less than 60 km - visited beautiful churches with valuable stained glass etc, beautiful historic towns and seaside. The cottage is close to Carhaix where one can find supermarkets (pleasant use of WIFI gratuite in L'Eclerc supermarket, gas station round the corner). The hamlet is very quiet and beautiful, lots of flowers, pleasant neighbours. The managers were perfect - although we didn't meet, I knew that help would have been close. The kitchen was well equipped. Sitting area outside, car parking just in front of the cottage. Perfect, I would highly recommend it. Many thanks to the owner!

Peaceful Beauty
This little house on the outskirts of Carhaix is a little gem of a place. For my wife and I, it was perfect. Central Brittany location, and very peaceful.
The charming town of Carhaix is 5 minutes drive. From there, you can get all the pastries you could ever want from any one of the many patisseries.
The area is great for cycling and the beautiful Brittany beaches are only about an hours drive. We highly the beaches of Crozon.

Relaxing and comfortable
A lovely quiet and pretty location and the gite is comfortable and cosy. Everything you need for a restful stay. The canal is a short walk away and there are good shops close by. The coast is about an hour away and there are some pretty lakes ably half an hour or so away. Would recommend for a quiet stay away from all the hustle and bustle.

Relaxing break
We visited during a spell of hot weather, and were glad that the ground floor of the cottage stayed cool due to the thick walls; it was however rather warm upstairs. The neighbours are very friendly , we met most of them during our stay and Jonathan was quick to respond to requests for information (we took mobile internet with us). The canal is a 15 minute walk away and there are several good supermarkets in the town.

Nice cottage in a friendly hamlet
We had a very enjoyable stay, Carhaix Plouguer is a nice small town with everything you need. The cottage is in a good location for walks along the canal or through the woods.

A great cottage in a great location
I had a very good week in the cottage. It's nicely situated in a quiet hamlet yet just a mile or two from Carhaix with two large supermarkets and all the shops that you will need including a newsagents that sell English newspapers. The cottage offers loads of English TV channels and there is free Wi Fi in the café at Leclerc supermarket. What's not to like ?!

Lovely cottage - quiet location, perfect to get away from everything
The cottage is in a lovely hamlet, the locals are all very friendly mixture of English & French in the Hamlet (brought us some tomatoes they'd grown!!) The cottage itself is the perfect get away, good sized lounge with comfy leather sofa, TV if you want it and selection of DVDs (although a lot are French with English subtitles so might be worth bringing some with you. The kitchen is small but perfectly functional with everything you could need. The bedroom is lovely, really simply but tastefully decorated - very relaxing space and the bed was comfy too.
The patio was a suntrap in the afternoon - perfect to sit out with a Pastis / G&T early evening - we were very lucky with the weather. Having the washing machine & dryer was also very useful.
We explored the local area - canal walk was really lovely. Local town had everything you need with a large L'Eclerc supermarket and a good choice of restaurants to eat out. Locally (15/20miles) the Abbey is worth a look - you have the option of taking an ipad (at no extra cost) which gives you a tour of the rooms with virtual pictures of the rooms how they would have looked which really brought it to life, and the bar across the bridge did the BEST ever Moules Frites - perfect place to watch the world go by and popular with cyclists. Also the Lac Guerlidan (probably not spelt right) is worth a visit and it's on the way too/from the Abbey
We would definitely recommend a stay here - and the owner was very helpful and prompt to reply to queries.
Lovely part of the world to visit - perfect if you just want to escape from life !!

The cottage is full of character and is nicely placed in a quiet location yet only a couple of miles from Carhaix Plouguer where two large supermarkets can be found. The cottage has everything needed for a self catering holiday with plenty of English TV channels and a DVD player.
