Located In the beautiful, yet still relatively unknown department south of the Dordogne in the Lot-et-Garonne in the former province of Gascony, the house is set in the centre of a medieval town with shops, 3 restaurants and 3 cafes.
It's the house of the former cork manufacturer, hence the name La Maison du Bouchonnier. The property boasts has fiber optic and WIFI through a router and a connected TV. It is within walking distance of a heated swimming pool with sunbathing area. I have done everything I can to make you feel at home in France.
The house can accommodate a maximum of 6 adults.
A bathroom (2nd) on the floor is being created in the house, ready May 15th.

The house with its thick stone walls is naturally cool. It has kept its cozy atmosphere at the end of your stay the cleaning lady comes to prepare the house for the next guests.
The terrace with covered area and dining table is level with the house. The romantic garden is located a few steps higher. The whole is completely walled so completely safe for children and pets.
Despite the summer activity, the house and garden are an oasis of peace, which always amazes my guests. From breakfast until bedtime, it is wonderful to read in the garden, text, sunbathe, have a drink, take your meals, in short, enjoy.
I rent a private parking space for my guests 150 m from the house.
Mézin is located on the cycle route that connects Scandinavia with Southern Europe. Electric bicycles are available for rent and can be delivered to your home.
In the house there is a folder with printed walking routes, they can be started from the front door. Actually all but a short distance by car is less tiring.
Mézin is a pleasantly busy town, especially in summer and everything is organized in the vicinity, there is always something to do somewhere and you do not have to drive many kilometers for it. Shopping can be done on foot at the Sunday morning market and in the shops.

From May to mid-November the weather is usually summer, generally less warm than in the south-east and central France, until November 1 it is often 25 degrees and dry.
The region benefits from the mild ocean climate, its location south of Bordeaux and north of Toulouse is very favorable, which was the deciding factor in our choice of purchase. The sun hours per year are comparable to those around the Mediterranean. We don't have any windmills here because we use solar panels for the energy that is renewable. The water is also supplied to the holiday home by a solar panel on the roof.

Mézin has 3 restaurants and also 2 butchers/caterers where you can get delicious ready meals or pizza at one of the restaurants, even if you can prepare good meals yourself in the comfortable kitchen. The Sunday morning market is very pleasant and well stocked with fruits, vegetables, cheese, exotic dishes, fried chicken, snails, oysters. Mézin is located in the middle of the production areas of all these delicacies. Every wine estate has a tasting room and more and more events are being organized such as picnics on the domain, music and meal: dimanche au vignoble, At wine estate Magnaut a petit déjeuner Gascon is regularly organized and I think that more and more will be organized. Mézin has the Cave des Côtes de Gascogne and Armagnac du Mézinais with a tasting room where you can also find regional products.
