Holiday Cottage near Arcachon, Landes, Aquitaine, France This spacious and well equipped holiday cottage is situated in a quiet hamlet on the outskirts of Sanguinet, a charming village on the shore of the magnificent lake Sanguinet, which lies to the south of the Bassin de Arcachon. The house is a traditional Cottage of the Landes region built in the 19th century and retains many of its original features. The house has an enclosed garden with lockable gates for child safety. There is outdoor furniture for dining and also sun loungers, sun umbrella and barbecue. The accommodation is on one level and the spacious house is well equipped and comfortably furnished. On very hot summer days the thick house walls keep the interior cool.
The lake is very large, over 14,000 acres, with fresh clear water, shallow sandy beaches and shaded areas making it ideal for family holidays. The lake is also popular for all kinds of water activities including swimming windsurfing and sailing. The Atlantic coast with its endless sandy beaches and fantastic surf is just 20 minutes’ drive away. There are many off road cycle tracks through the forests along the coast and near the lake.
ACCOMMODATION INCLUDES:
Kitchen and dining The kitchen is large and fully equipped with traditional fireplace, built in electric oven with gas hob, microwave, toaster and coffee maker plus other kitchen tools. There is a dining table including a high chair. Adjacent to the kitchen is the utility room with Belfast sink, larder fridge freezer, washing machine and dish washer.
Terrace The kitchen French windows lead to a covered terrace with table and chairs for dining outside
Living rooms The sitting room is spacious and comfortably furnished with a wood stove set into a classic French chimney. There is satellite tv with most UK channels, dvd/video hi fi, music centre and cds.
Bedrooms Bedroom 1 has a double bed and en suite facilities with shower, wash basin and wc. Bedroom 2 has a double bed and single bed. Bedroom 3 has twin beds and a travel cot.
Bathrooms Family bathroom with shower wash basin and wc. Ensuite leading off bedroom 1 with shower wash basin and wc.
Heating Electric wall heaters.
Entertainment There is satellite tv with most UK channels, dvd/video hi fi, music centre and cds. The enclosed garden has a large grassed area for children's play and family relaxation. The garden has trees providing shaded areas. There is outdoor furniture for dining and also sun loungers, sun umbrella and barbecue. The accommodation is on one level and the spacious house is well equipped and comfortably furnished.

Restaurants etc: There are several good restaurants in and around Sanguinet. In the holiday season there is a free ball each Saturday evening together with a night market. The annual Sanguinet Jazz Festival takes place between the 20th and 23rd of July.
Watersports: The lake is ideal for swimming, sailing, and windsurfing. Boats and other equipment may be hired locally
Cycling; There are many cycle tracks through the forest and near to the lake. Four cycles are available for visitors to use and others may be hired locally
Golf: There is a golf course at Biscarrosse - around 10 km distance
Wine tasting etc: The world famous vinyards in the Bordeaux region, Graves Medoc Sauternes St Emillion and many others are within easy reach.
