St Georges de Didonne is a well established, traditional seaside resort on the Atlantic coast at the mouth of the River Gironde. There is over 2kms of sandy beach edged by a pine forest, enhancing its natural beauty. The promenade, which runs the length of the beach, has a separate cycling and roller blading track from the walkway. The beaches are spacious enough to relax and play games, with lots of organised beach activities during the summer months - great for children! The town offers all the necessary amenities and a good selection of local restaurants. A ten minute drive north will take you to Royan with a larger selection of shops and restaurants, plus many activities to enjoy.

There is an abundance of shops and restaurants to be found in St Georges and Royan. Both towns have a daily market selling local, fresh produce. The nearest large hypermarket is Leclerc, a 15 mins drive.
