Whether it’s sitting around a campfire toasting marshmallows, gazing at the star drenched skies, shucking oysters, having a dip in the natural swim pond or tasting cider and calvados, Chateau Monfreville is the perfect retreat to unwind & relax.
Explore the world war 2 landing beaches and monuments of Omaha & Utah, discover the Bayeux tapestry or visit Mont Saint Michel. Normandy has a rich & colourful history dating back to the Vikings with beautiful villages, towns & gastronomy to delight the senses, this region of France is an exceptional destination.
The Cottages
Pond Cottage
The cottage is a large & spacious converted barn which sleeps 8 people comfortably with plenty of extra room for babies in cots. Upstairs the cottage has 2 double bedrooms, one with an en-suite & one twin room. There is also a large family bathroom with a bath, shower, hand basin and loo.
Downstairs is a second twin room with a WC & hand basin leading to a utility room with a washing machine & tumble dryer. The lounge area is a huge beamed open planned room complete with baby grand piano, log burning stove & comfortable sofas. There is an original VHS video player & cassettes plus a DVD player. The cottage has lots of games, music and books to choose from.
The dining room leads off from the lounge area & into a fully equipped kitchen with a full size cooker, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and dishwasher. The dining area has a back door which opens onto a covered terraced area for outdoor dining. Private gardens & a BBQ are all inclusive of Pond Cottage.
Rose Cottage
Upstairs the cottage has one double bedroom & one twin room with a shared bathroom with shower, bath & hand basin. There is a separate loo.
Downstairs is a large open plan lounge area with a wood burning stove and large double day bed suitable to 2 people, a comfortable sofa & armchairs. The cottage has lots of games and books to choose from along with a DVD player & TV.
The dining room leads off from the lounge area & into a fully equipped kitchen with a full size cooker, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and dishwasher. The dining area has a back door which opens onto a covered terraced area for outdoor dining.
Camping
Camp Monfreville is good old fashioned camping at its best! Great pitches, fabulous views with just the great outdoors & nothing added. There are no cars allowed on the campsite so that there is a true outdoor feeling with nature & children can roam freely playing with the animals and new found friends. Cars are parked up in our orchard once you have unloaded your clobber onto the campsite.
July & August mornings see The Bread Fairy delivering delicious croissants, pain au chocolates and baguettes to your tent. Thursday evenings is a cracking social event where the best Moules Frites is served in our party barn and juicy whole roast chickens on Sunday’s. There is an honesty shop with homemade jams, charcoal, wood, marshmallows & all the little essentials you may need along with a washing machine.
We have a maximum of 25 tents at any one time. We absolutely promise to never be overcrowded.
We’re sorry but we have no faciltities for camper vans, caravans & dogs. We do accept folding trailer

We reserve the right of admission.
A booking is made on receipt of a booking form together with a signed copy of ‘Terms & Conditions’ and a deposit payment of half the balance per week (Short term camping nights are to be paid in full). For bookings made within 6 weeks of the start date, full payment is required.
The Euro equivalent to be calculated on day of deposit.
The balance is to be paid 6 weeks before commencement of hire.
Cancellation & RefundsRefund Policy:
30 days notice or longer – 90% refunded
15 – 29 days notice – 50% refunded
14 days or less notice – No refund
We suggest you take out insurance to cover this eventuality.
Arrivals: 4pm. Should you arrive before hand, please let us know.
Departures: Please vacate by 11am.
Leader of party agrees the rules of the natural swimming pond and hot tub. We cannot take responsibility for others.
We cannot accept responsibility for your possessions or personal injury whilst staying at Camp Monfreville.
Camp fires are at your own risk. Please take great care. Safety must be adhered to at all times.
We love sing songs & welcome unplugged musical instruments. Please quieten down by 10pm in respect to other campers & guests.
