Le Peyrat is is a self catering Dordogne holiday gite which is ideal for both children and adults. A converted barn positioned in 2 acres of mature gardens with a private securely fenced pool.
Our Dordogne holiday home has been extremely tastefully renovated, many of the original features have been maintained and it has all the modern comforts.

Sixth bedroom for the children with changing facilities, cots are available. The Living area is centered around a beautiful open minstrel gallery, Louis XIV style, with a stunning chandelier. The large lounge living area is light and airy, overlooked by the upstairs gallery, with satellite TV / DVD and a small area for the children to relax and play. French doors open onto a large terrace, used for dining, seating 10-12 people, it overlooks the pool, mature gardens and children's play area. A second terrace, in a shaded area of of the garden has a BBQ and further seating, an ideal area to relax and listen to the stream.
Large well equipped kitchen and dining area opening onto a terrace at the back of the house.
The mature gardens have beautiful views of the forests and vineyards.
A boules court in the garden, is a fun way to try your hand at the French favourite past time. A small childrens play area with swings and sand pit.
We are 5 minutes from the picturesque Lac de Gurson, a beautiful large sandy beach set among forests ideal for swimming. It boasts bars and restaurants, equestrian centre, boating, fishing and a large water chute for the children. Or if you don't mind travelling further a field, 30 mins drive to Etang la Jemeye, a second beautiful lake with sandy beach, situated in forests, ideal for walking and cycling. Childrens play area , water sports and restaurants also available
The historic towns of Bergerac and Perigueux and famous vineyards of St Emilion are all within a 35 minutes drive.
Or if you want to venture further, the exciting city of Bordeaux with its beautiful architecture and fabulous shops is 50 minutes drive. Archachon on the Atlantic coast, is a 90 minute drive, but worth a visit from its abundance of fish food restaurants, famous dunes and amazing beaches.

6th bedroom caters for children only, it has a cot bed suitable for children 4 and under, and a cot for babies. It has a changing station, monitor, various toys and games. There is also a safety gate, a travel cot, steriliser for those with young children. The large atrium upstairs has an area where the children can play, or watch a DVD. There is also a reading area for the adults.

There are four golf courses within 50 minutes drive the nearest being Chateau Vigier , 25km, an internationally renowned golf course , spa and restaurant. It is a unique 27 hole golf course, set in 450 acres of stunning countryside, in the heart of the wine districts of the Dordogne, Château des Vigiers offers an exceptional place in which to unwind and relax. A second 18 hole course, set amongst forest is a 30 minutes drive from the property.
We are situated on the heart of wine country, you can savour award winning Bergerac, Bordeaux and St Emilion wines. Wine tasting can be organized by the owners.
Special Rental Conditions
A 25% non-refundable deposit is required on booking. If the deposit is not received within one week, the property will be removed from booked. The remaining balance is payable 8 weeks before arrival.
The security deposit of £300, is required 2 weeks before arrival, it will refunded subject to checks within one week of departure.
Linen and towels are provided but please bring your own beach towels.
