Our property consists of a large 18th century manor house where we live, with a large gîte on either side, the third being in an old barn, renovated and refurbished.
Each gite has its own independent entrance, its garden with barbecue and garden furniture so that everyone can be quiet, including us!
THE DORDOGNE COTTAGE is a charming cottage, made to comfortably accommodate 9 people, and includes access to the heated swimming pool (14m X 6m), the sauna, the jacuzzi and the play area also including a massage chair. Located at the end of the 18th century charterhouse , with its private garden, our bet is that you will want this vacation rental to become your vacation home for you , as long as you fall in love with Périgord and under the spell of this property.
The Dordogne gîte is part of a very large building known as the "chartreuse" in the South-West. It was the name given in the 18th century to manors of imposing size, with a particular shape reminiscent of the castle of Cheverny - that of Tintin if you prefer - the staircase of honor, and the gables of roof less. It was completed in 1758 by Jean-Pierre Grézis, Doctor of Medicine, who called himself Lord of the Alburague (La burague) and of Mongrieu, which led to him being placed under house arrest during the French Revolution.
This is a spacious vacation rental (200m²) designed to make you feel like you are in your own family vacation home.
On entering, you are on one level in the dining room with a large fireplace on your left and an over-equipped American kitchen on your right (electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator and freezer. , toaster, kettle, fryer, mixer-mixer, classic coffee maker and Nespresso, Sodastream ...). The living room includes a sideboard and a splashback abundantly stocked with crockery.
The entire ground floor is paved with local stone which conceals underfloor heating. But for a small outbreak in mid-season, you can use one of the two fireplaces, without polluting thanks to the open insert. In the event of extreme heat, you are protected by the thickness of the walls, and fans are at your disposal.
To the right of this room, the Brantôme room, the smallest, is designed for people with reduced mobility, with a 90 cm bed (electric bed), a walk-in shower and a raised toilet.
Continuing in the axis of the entrance, you arrive at the living room which offers two sofas (one for decoration only), 5 armchairs, a desk, chairs, flat screen TV, DVD player with DVDs, HiFi system with CDs, a large mirror cabinet. Continuing to your right, there is a technical room under the stairs in which you will find a washing machine, a dryer, an iron and ironing board, and baby equipment (cot, pot, safety barrier. safety, socket covers).
Upstairs, the low temperature heating is hidden in the facings of the walls, which does not harm the aesthetics and which also allows to have a large area of heated walls because the volumes are vast! There is no false ceiling here, but a frame that rises to 8 meters.
Going up the stairs, the room in front of you is the Sarlat room, with 2 beds of 90, 2 bedside tables, a desk, a wardrobe, two chairs, a bench, a small chest and the adjoining bathroom, with shower and wc.
The Périgueux bedroom has a 140 bed, 2 bedside tables, a wardrobe, a safe, a dressing table, two armchairs, and its adjoining bathroom with shower and toilet.
The Bergerac Room has a 160 bed, 2 bedside tables, a wardrobe, two armchairs, a table, a chair, a safe, a corner sideboard, and its adjoining bathroom with bathtub and wc.
Finally by retracing his steps, at the other end of the corridor, the Domme room offers 2 beds of 90, 2 night tables, a chest, a chair, a small chest.
