Le Belevedere Apartment building is situated in a beautiful, quiet location offering seclusion and stunning scenery, whilst still being close to Courchevel 1650 centre and the slopes.
Enjoy the ease of door step skiing. A simple 100 metre schuss takes you onto the Belvedere ski run. A 400 metres "blue" run down to the new 1650 bubble. From there a beautiful 10 minute ride takes you up to all of the 1650 runs; leading to Courchevel 1850, Meribel, Val Thorens and Les Menuires.
Free ski buses operate from the Belvedere apartment to central 1650 (only 5 mins ride or 15 mins walk) and to Courchevel 1850, 1550 and 1300.
The Studio comprises of:
- 1 lounge with kitchenette and 2 sofa beds
- 1 bathroom with bath / shower
- 1 WC
- Private Balcony
- Fully Equipped Kitchen with Dishwasher
- Blankets
- TV and Video (with Library)
- Boot Locker and Ski Locker
- Underground Parking or Ample Free Outside Parking
The village itself, called Moriond by the locals is much smaller than 1850, but has a great selection of bars and restaurants (cheaper than 1850). Some of our favourite haunts are Rocky's bar , the Signal Bar, the Bubble Bar and the Space Bar (for late night revelling).
Eating out we like L'Eterlou (great pizzas), Petit Savoyard (local specialities) and La Montagne (try eating in the bar end of the restaurant, same chef, but cheaper food!). Also don't forget that the unlimited facilities of 1850 are only a 5 minute drive up the mountain.
For shops and ski hire there's Francis Blanc Sports which has Roger (Englishman) as the local specialist boot fitter. They offer a friendly service and good rental equipment. (You can prebook helmets for the children by email).
Also there is a Ski Hire shop 100 metres from the apartment close to the bus stop. Tell them you stay at the Belvedere Apartments and you will get a 15% Discount.
Courchevel 1650 does operates a ski school but our recommendation is New Generation. Located in Pachod Sports (next to Roger's shop) they have English staff and offer bootfitting and Patagonia clothing. Between the two shops you should find everything you need.
The beginners lift "Mickey" and the long blue "Le Belvedere" are free which is potential ski pass saving for beginners.
Skiing:
You buy your Ski passes and French ski school at the central station by the bubble (above the Tourist Information).
You have 3 choices of ski pass - Courchevel 1650 only, Courchevel and the 3 vallees.
A beginner only needs a ski pass once the free lifts of Mickey and Le Belvedere are no longer a challenge. Only fairly competent skiers should consider paying the extra for the 3 vallees pass.
Note the pass allows 1 days skiing in Val D'Isere / Tignes which are a 11/2 hour drive.
If you want to experience skiing in a nearby resort Pra-Lognan La Vanoise is only 1 hour drive away.
Good off piste skiing (when conditions allow!) can be found at the top of 1650 and off the Chanrossa and Suisse runs.
Courchevel 1850 can be reached by skiing via Chanrossa, via Pra-Meruel or by free ski bus!
Walking:
If you want a days walking rather than skiing, the trek down to the lake "La Rosiere" starts just outside the apartment or you can walk to the top of the road for 1km and into the forest and National Park - the track does lead eventually to the "Petit Mont Blanc" but this can not be walked in Winter.
The 2 bed apartment and studio can be rented separately or linked together.
Therefore the Studio is ideal for a couple on their own
The 2 bed apartment is fantastic for a family
The 2 together are perfect for a party of up to 8 people
