Cognac Holiday Rental Home with Pool in Poitou-Charentes, Charente
Le Moulin de Chazotte is a French watermill dating back to the 15th which has been lovingly restored to create four exclusive and high quality self catering holiday gites in a wonderful setting in the Charente department of France. Each gite enjoys access to all the grounds and facilities, has its own private terrace with barbecue and has full use of the large heated and floodlit swimming pool (12m x 6m), plus an indoor and outdoor games area. Be sure to visit Cognac and the surroundings towns in the area, such as Angoulême and Saintes which are steeped in Roman and Medieval history with fascinating architecture and markets. Fantastic sea-food restaurants and sandy beaches can be found at Royan only an hour’s drive away. There are many activities to keep any holiday-maker occupied including on site including badminton, canoeing, cycling (some bikes available), swings, table-tennis, table-football, and boules. In addition there is a 7 acre play field which is ideal for football, kites, rounders and golf practice.
La Maison de Hibou (The owl house) forms half of the grand, main building which was built in the mid 1890s. This charming self catering gite was named after a magnificent barn owl which was roosting in the roof beams before there were any windows in the building. While redesigning the interior of the building, as many of the original architectural features as possible have been retained. The lounge boasts a traditional Charentais timber ceiling with a massive supporting beam. At first floor level there are exposed roof beams and beautiful exposed stonework. The exterior is built from huge blocks of creamy-coloured limestone which is typical of this part of the Charente. The impressive balustraded terrace is south-facing with glorious views across the vineyards.

Special Rental Conditions
The balance of 75% is then due 8 weeks before the start date. Payments can be in Euros or Sterling at the conversion rate on the day.
A security deposit of 500 Euros is required at the same time as the balance payment for each booking. This is to be by separate cheque or other payment and will be refunded in full within 2 weeks of the end of your stay once any breakages or damage has been paid for.
Your accommodation will have been thoroughly cleaned at the time of your arrival. We would like you to leave the place in the same condition at the end of your stay. If you prefer we can arrange a cleaning service at an additional charge of 30€.
During mid season lets heating may be required. An additional charge of 35€ per week is made for central heating. We will supply logs for the wood-burning fires at a nominal rate, if required.
