We thought the apartment was lovely, just the right size, very comfortable and in a perfect location, so near to everything we wanted. We made good use of the one euro bus fares, and got to see the other places along the coast too. And the weather was good!
We had a journey of hours due to Easyjet having a technical problem with our plane at Gatwick, where we sat on it for about three hours, then landing at Milan to refuel and eventually arriving in Nice. After all that, it was wonderful to be met by very friendly and welcoming Margit, who said wine was chilling in the fridge. Just what we needed!
If we do visit Nice in the future, we would love to stay at your apartment again.
Thanks again,
We have had a lovely holiday this year. This apartment is in the perfect location, close to everything you could need. Shopping, beach, food and drink right on your doorstep.
The apartment was clean, bright and extremely comfortable. It also felt ' homely ' with lots of little touches that showed it is cared about. It was well maintained and as described.
Margit who provides the keys was very helpful. The Shapko Bar where the keys were collected is opposite the apartment, we had some fantastic evenings there. The staff made us feel like regulars and very welcome.
We are definitely going to book here again as it was perfect !
Our stay in this beautiful little gem in the heart of The Old Town was perfect from start to finish. We were greeted by satu,a lovely lady from Finland that speaks perfect English, she works in the Bar Shapko opposite the Apt'ment & has great knowledge of places to eat & drink at while in Nice.We had a complimentary bottle of Rose waiting in the fridge which was very nice.
It's just a few stairs to the front door which gives no clue to the beautiful Apt'ment on the other side, the bedroom & lounge with there beams running through the ceiling give it a lovely warm, cottagey& homely feel (I'm 6ft and had no problem with the ceiling in the bedroom). The kitchen dinner is well equipped if you choose to do some home cooking or just have a tea or coffee in the mornings & there are plenty of small shops nearby for food and drink. The lounge has comfy seating for several people and a good dvd/cd player.
Just yards from bars (that have no external noise) and restaurants in Rossetti square and only a 5 minute walk to the lovely beach and Cours Saleya where during the day it has the most amazing market with fresh fruit and veg and flowers.
This Apt'ment is as the photos depic and more and would highly recommend to anyone I know and those I don't.
My wife and I have been to Nice before and had decided that we wanted to stay in an apartment in Old Town this time as we love the atmosphere of that area.
It's fair to say that my wife is very particular about where she stays and I was booking this trip as a surprise for her recent 'big' birthday so I knew I had to find absolutely the right place otherwise I'd never hear the end of it.
I cannot express how delighted she was when we first walked into this property - the location is superb, the decor is a delight and the quirky Old Town feel to the rooms is the icing on the cake. The owner had even arranged a bottle of fizz to be put in the fridge as I'd told her that the trip was a surprise birthday present for my wife.
I've now got enough brownie points for several games of golf with the lads :)
Thanks - we will be back (maybe my wife will organise a surprise trip for me for my next birthday - here's hoping)
My wife and I stayed for a week in this charming, lovely, cosy, well-located and perfect (I'm running out of laudatory adjectives!) apartment offering all amenities required. A well-equipped kitchen with a dining table, a nice living-room and a cosy low-ceiling'ed bedroom, but no problem. Nice furniture also. The owner's description is also quite true as regards cafes, restaurants and location etc. Just step out from the apartment, and you are there! Two bakery shops around the corner and a Monoprix supermarket 7-8 mins. away apart from other local traders.
We had a great stay in Nice - and a blue sky all week although a bit chilly in the evening. We went to Monaco and Antibes/Cannes by train which is about 25 mins. either way. Just take the tram to the train station, it's only 1 Euro. Also take a walk up the hill for a nice view of the city and sea.
We would certainly recommend this appartment to anyone.
I spent a week in this lovely property at the beginning of September this year. Not only was it charming, cosy and sparkling clean, but it was really fantastic to be right at the heart of Nice's hustle and bustle, and a minute's walk away from the beach. We had a great time (and delicious Mexican food!) in Shapko, the jazz bar just across the street from the apartment, and loved leaning out of the apartment's kitchen window with a glass of rose and soaking up the Old Town's atmosphere. Another great thing about our stay was that we were able to visit beaches and towns near Nice on the bikes that are available to hire for just five euros a week!
We received great customer service from the owner before our holiday, and from the manager of the apartment when we arrived, and it was stocked with everything we could possibly need during our stay. Would totally recommend!
We had a really lovely week in Nice and it is so depressiing to return home and this awful weather! Your apartment was lovely and very convenient for the night life, the beach, the bus and rail links. The information, hints and tips you gave us were all spot on, and we found the apartment so easily. Margit was fab - she came straight over and stored our luggage in her bar - as we arrived in Nice aound 11am. We met up with her again at 2pm that day to get the key.
We explored the whole coast from Menton to Cannes - such pretty places. We used the train for Cannes and Antibes and the bus for Villefranche, Monte Carlo and Menton - such good value at 1 Euro per journey! Nice is and ideal base with such a lovely port, shopping centre, beach and of course the old town itself. Our week sped by far too quickly and I am sure we will return in the future!
Many thanks once again for your help and advice and of course for the lovely touches in the apartment that made it so comfortable.
Sharon
Just wanted to write and thank you for the lovely stay in your apartment in Nice in June. It is such a great place to stay and in such a wonderful location. My son and I enjoyed the ease of the local facilities and the short walk to the beach. Also Margrit was so helpful and full of local knowledge, please pass on our thanks.
The flat was so nice and very well maintained and it had such a nice homely feel to it. Everything you need is in the flat and it was nice sitting in the window watching the world go by. Everything listed was there and even a few extra bits. It felt like home from home.
The local restaurants, beach and shopping all very close by and only a short walk to the main shopping complexes if that's what your looking for. Overall we had a great stay and would definitely recommend to family, friends and others.
Thanks again for a wonderful stay.
My friends and I had the best stay in Nice- it's a very beautiful area. The appartment is perfectly situated- the beach is about a 3 minute walk, the place is flooded with cafés and importantly, the best ice cream in the area is about 10 seconds from the door.
The appartment itself is very lovely and well furnished- we found everything we needed. As previous reviewers have said though, watch your head!
A very charming apartment in the centre of Old Nice.
Although the building is old, the apartment has the necessary modern comforts.
I guess that the original inhabitants were shorter than modern humans – I knocked my head against the ceiling in the bedroom twice, but that is just one more charm to the apartment. And you learn to duck
We must not forget to mention the local representative, who made the stay easy and enjoyable.
We have been I Nice several times before, but we never stayed in Old Nice. This apartment is now our favourite place in Nice.
