The house "Au bord du Canal" has a very nice view of the château of Chateauneuf en Auxois, a hill-top village classified as one of the prettiest villages of France.
On the other side of the Burgundy canal, opposite of the house, runs the cycle path ‘la Voie Verte’. This bitume path follows the canal for 212 km from Tonnerre to Dijon, good for very agreeable bike riding. A footbridge behind the house gives direct access to the towpath for a leisury stroll along the canal. It is a half an hour walk uphill to Chateauneuf.
When weather permits we will serve your breakfast, which is included, on the terrace in view of the canal.
The property is enclosed and the access to the parking is by an electric opening sliding gate. There is a private parking space at the house and bikes can be stored in the bike shed, where you can also charge your bike batteries. The garden is there for you to relax, or have a drink on the terrace in view of the Chateau.
Good restaurants are closeby in Chateauneuf, Vandenesse en Auxois or Pouilly en Auxois.
The rooms are bright, spacious and comfortable, you will appreciate the themed decoration about Burgundy, the canal and boats. Actually, each room is named after an existing boat.
There is a private access to the guest rooms and all rooms are on the first floor. The rooms are equipped with an electric kettle for your tea or coffee facilities and a tv. All the four rooms have an ensuite bathroom with shower, washbasin and WC. All double beds can be made into two singles on request.The three double rooms Lily 17m2, Toiler 14m2and Elektra 17m2 have a view over the canal and the country side. The family room L’Etoile is on two levels, the double room of 18m2 and the room above of 15m2 with two single beds of 90x200. It has also an enclosed baby-bed, and baby equipment.
