Le Clos Castel is an idyllic spot in the Normandy countryside. The large, imposing stone farmhouse sits in over 5 acres with a large front garden for guests to enjoy. The four bedrooms are designed and finished to high-end hotel standards. Our characterful rooms are a mix of top quality modern beds and bedding whilst many of the furnishings retain the charm of older Normandy.

Three of our Superking (180 x 200 cm) beds zip-and-link and can be prepared as twins to suit your needs (Sword, Utah and Gold). Omaha is our only 140 x 190cm double. Utah’s private bathroom is outside of the room, but is not shared, all other rooms are en-suite.

Our guests can relax and enjoy their own lounge complete with french and english TV, Xbox and a comprehensive collection of games and DVDs. All rooms are provided with complimentary coffee and tea making facilities. Wi-Fi is available throughout the property.  

Set in the Marais de Contentin regional park walking, cycling and bird watching are all within easy reach. The house has its own large front garden and outdoor seating for evening pic-nics, watching the sunset or star gazing in the clear night skies above.

Dining:

Le Clos Castel has a large dining room which will seat 10 in comfort and enjoys a double aspect view to the front and side gardens. It is brilliantly lit by the Normandy sunshine (usually!). A full continental breakfast is provided, with fresh bread and pastries (straight from the local boulangerie), yoghurts, cheese board, cold cuts and cereal provided daily . Please do let us know in advance if you have any specific dietary requirements and we will do our very best to accommodate your needs.

Living room:

The guest lounge is comfortably appointed with a sofa, armchairs, and a good selection of entertainment; tv, wi-fi, Xbox 360 with games to enjoy and freeview satellite tv for English and French channels.

To ensure that everyone is kept happy and enjoys their stay at Le Clos Castel to its fullest there is also a wide range of books and board games for you to choose from.

Bedrooms:

There are 4 large double bedrooms at Le Clos Castel, 3 of which are fully en-suite with shower, toilet and wash basin. For the fourth room (Utah) there is a dedicated bathroom with shower, toilet and wash basin just across the hall. The family room (Gold), contains a seperate full-size single bed. Younger guests (under 3) who may wish to share a double room with Mum and Dad will need their own pop-up bed but will enjoy a place at the head of the table in ourprovided high chair and can be kept safe and sound with a child gate available on request. All rooms are supplied with complimentary tea and coffee, toiletries and a hairdryer.

Bedroom 1 - ‘Omaha’ Double bedroom with en suite shower room and views over the countryside to the side of Le Clos Castel. This room has the only 140 x 190 cm double (no footboard) and cannot be prepared as a twin.

Bedroom 2 - ‘Sword’ Large double-aspect double or twin bedroom suite with Super-King bed, sofa and en-suite private luxurious shower room. The Super-King bed can be separated into twin (90 x 200 cm) singles. Our largest room, Sword enjoys views to the front garden and over the countryside through the two patio doors each of which opens onto a separate balcony. The room is furnished in a traditional style and includes a two-seat sofa for you to relax in comfort. Your large bathroom is accessed from your private vestibule space giving the room the air of a suite.

Bedroom 3 - ‘Utah’ Double bedroom with Super-King bed which can be separated into twin singles and separate dedicated bathroom accessed across the hall (not shared). Views to the front gardens.

Bedroom 4 - ‘Gold’ Family room with Super-King bed which can be separated into twin singles, a separate single bed for the little one and en-suite shower room. Views to front.

All bath and hand towels will be provided for you.

Garden and outside:

Le Clos Castel is set in over 5 acres . The front of the property is landscaped with mature trees and shrubs and a large lawn. Our guests are welcome to walk around the campsite, use the la-boule court, picnic area and of course our new recreation room.

Parking and garages:

Le Clos Castel has plenty of parking space for up to 6 cars with other areas available on request (primarily for vintage vehicles or trailers). Please park considerately to others and we ask that you back up to the main house. Covered storage may be available for bicycles or motorbikes but please ask in advance to be certain of space.
