Situated between Carcassonne and the Mediterranean coast lies the small medieval town of Caunes-Minervois. ‘Au Pont Romain’ is situated in the foothills of the Montagne Noire and just a 15 minute stroll from Caunes with its restaurants, bars, shops, Art galleries and other local artisans.
Set in the beautiful Languedoc region in the South of France, We offer four self-catering Gites and one chambre D'hote in stunning and peaceful surroundings, each with their own outdoor space.
We want you to relax and enjoy your holiday, therefore we offer on Sunday evenings a BBQ/Pizza evening , great home grown food & local produce, wines from the area, great company (we hope! ) and you don’t have to go far to get to bed.

The swimming pool is 5 x 10 x 1.5 metres and underwent extensive upgrades to its pumps, filters and skimmers in May 2023.
The BBQ/Pizza nights on Sunday evenings including all food and drink costs € 25 for adults and €12 for children over five.
‘Le Jardin’ is a bright, spacious Chambre d’Hote. It consists of a large main room with a lovely double bed in the bedroom area, that looks out of the window to the Montagne Noire.
There are also two bedside cabinets, a large chest of draws and a wardrobe with a full length mirror. There is a hair drier for your use.
The living area has a two seat sofa, a T.V, and tea & coffee making facilities.
The shower room has a large shower, toilet, hand basin and heater/ heated towel rail.
Outside there is a private patio, perfect for enjoying a leisurely breakfast or relaxing with a glass of wine before a night out.
In the summer season we have a large swimming pool that you can use.
Throughout the year you are welcome to join in with any of the events mentioned on our web site.
For an enjoyable stay in our suite we charge only €96 per night which includes access to the pool (when open) and a continental breakfast will be brought to you, to have on your Private Patio or inside.

Caunes Minervois - Caunes is a thriving small town with a selection of shops, including an ATM, Post Office ,Boulangerie and small supermarket with an award winning butcher. The Bar/Tabac is a popular and busy place with a restaurant. There are several other restaurants in Caunes and the surrounding villages. There is also a Pharmacy.
Caunes Minervois is famous for its imposing Abbey (founded circa780) and for its red marble, that adorns many of the Cathedrals and Churchs of the region.
Caunes is known as a popular place for Arts & Crafts, and there are several workshops to visit, including Bob Kimberley’s Jewellery Workshop, Nele’s Art Gallery and Lionel’s Pottery.
Events - There are many Exhibitions and Festivals taking place throughout the year, and many Concerts including the Bastille Day Fireworks and the July Carcassonne Festival.

We would prefer it if you could plan to arrive at Au Pont Romain no earlier than 3pm on your first day (so we have time to get it all looking great for you) and be ready to leave at around 10am on your last day however we accept that due to flight scheduling this isn’t always possible so if you have an early or late flight please let us know so that we can accommodate your needs and provide you with facilities until you are ready to leave.
3. Your booking is not confirmed until we receive a 30% non-refundable deposit no later than 5 days after you make a provisional booking with us.
