Brittany Holiday Rental Cottages near Pontrieux - The Cottage Reviews

We stayed in the cottage for a week in August 2015. The Cottage is located in the most beautiful, peaceful grounds - ideal for "getting away from it all." The countryside and the constant birdsong are a delight. The accommodation is extremely clean and well-equipped with everything you may need. Bikes are available for use and badminton rackets are provided. Janet is the perfect hostess; helpful and informative, although not intrusive in anyway. The Cottage is in an ideal location to explore the coastline on all sides; the "pink granite coast path" is a must for all visitors. Paimpol is well worth a visit; I would recommend Le Restaurant du Port that overlooks the harbour. I would recommend this cottage without reservation to anyone who is looking for a quiet, restful break.

May 2016, we chose to spend a four day weekend at the Cottage. The idea was to enjoy a quiet and restful 51st. wedding anniversary in the Breton countryside. The choice we made was, as they state, "exactly what it says on the tin". We enjoyed a completely self-contained cottage situated in spacious grounds, with the serenity that the countryside and nature provide.

Mick and Janet, the owners, even made sure that fresh milk was in the refrigerator for our tea. The cottage is comfortable allowing plenty of room and contains most things required for your holiday and those other items, an Intermarche supermarket is to be found in the local village. We chose to have two evening meals in the cottage during our stay and the cooking facilities were all available and easy to use. The weather was very kind and we were able to sit outside in the garden to wine and dine, most agreeable.

The Breton sea food was a big attraction, plenty of restaurants to choose from along the coast. We were not to be disappointed, both midday and evening times.

Tip for the local sight-seeing: "La Roche Jagu" is a chateau/gardens is close at hand and a must for those who love the gardens, and these are situated, with stunning views above a bend in the river/inlet.

Janet and Mick could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The cottage is well equipped and private. It's in a great location for touring the region and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We had a wonderful week here. Everything you could ask for to recharge your batteries lovely outlook back and front of property. Drive right up to your door and your own private patio at the back house.

Well stocked super market on the outskirts of your side of the village just a couple of minutes in the car, or very quiet roads if you wanted to walk.

Pontrieux itself is very pretty with its old buildings and plenty of eating places or just have coffee and watch.

Stroll along the quay and at the far end you will find the railway station with a train every few hours which will connect you to many of the large towns.

Janet and Michael were the perfect hosts,

there if you needed them but left you alone to enjoy your holiday once you were reassured help was on hand. There are so many places to visit we managed the pink granite coast the local chateau La Roche Jagu, Zooparc at Tregomeur and caught the train to Paimpol.

A very good holiday would love to do it all again.

Le gîte est vraiment chouette (propre, calme, bien situé, dans une bâtisse typique). Nous avons beaucoup apprécié l'accueil de Janet et son époux. Merci pour les nombreuses petites attentions à notre arrivée et leur disponibilité. Et bien entendu le secteur est magnifique !

Einfach herrlich!

Cottage near Pontrieux
Marvelous little cottage, with beautiful garden and surroundings. Very cosy and private. Our hostess, Janet Plumptre, made us feel very welcome and provided us with lots of useful information about sites to see and things to do in the vicinity.

Supersauberes Häuschen
Sehr schönes Häuschen in ruhiger Lage, ideal für Ausflüge an die Côte Granit Rose. Alles war blitzsauber, Janet als Vermieterin sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.
