Bergerac Holiday Rental Villa / Sleeps 6 people
Built in 1729 this wonderful old Dordogne house has been 100% totally renovated. The villa is elevated and overlooks the Dordogne River which is around 40 metres away. The property boasts has some fantastic views of the old medieval town of Bergerac.
This wonderfully renovated house has three double bedrooms, the master bedroom having its own en-suite, toilet and dressing room. A second bathroom with WC is available for guests staying in the other two bedrooms. The Lounge has fantastic views as it overlooks the river and the fully equipped modern kitchen and dining area has access to a large patio area. The attractive and spacious lounge has lots of comfortable furnishings including a media center, flat screen TV, satellite TV for all stations in both the UK and in Europe, a CD player with radio and an Ipod docking station. In the kitchen you will find everything you need including a breakfast bar with two stools. In the dining area there is a table and seating for up to 8 people. The villa has central heating throughout and room fans for the warmer months. Due to the bedrooms being on the first floor, unfortunately the property is not suitable for those in wheelchairs or with mobility problems.
Outside the villa, you will find a very large private patio which leads off from the dining area. There is a table with umbrella, 6 chairs, BBQ, and the patio has been beautifully decorated with some potted plants.
The house offers you a great central location within walking distance of the old town of Bergerac. With a number of bars, restaurants and museums there are also many interesting vineyards, castles and Bastide towns all with close proximity to Bergerac. Supermarkets and markets are just a short walk away from the house with your larger shopping centres located on the outskirts of town, just a short drive away. The house is a fair distance from the coast / beach with Bordeaux 2.5hrs away and Arcachon 3hrs away, both of which are famous for their seafood, especially their oysters. Designed by Donald Steel the Chateau des Vigiers offers 27 holes of golf and is located just a few miles west of Bergerac, a wonderful golf course set amidst plum orchards, oak woods, lakes and vineyards. Bordeaux, Perigueux and the Bastide Towns are just a few of the other places of interest in the area. There are a number of farm restaurants in the Perigueux region. The medieval markets of Eymet, Cadouin, Issigeac and Dropt all happen during August.

Quaint bars and gourmet restaurants line the city streets and lane ways and the fact that almost all the city can be seen on foot is part of its charm. Shop opening hours are generally 10 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. and then from around 2.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m. daily. Shops are closed Sundays (sometimes on Mondays). Some may open longer during the summer season or on the weeks over Christmas. Bergerac is renowned for its wine and a short trip to the outskirts of the city reveals a landscape of vineyards that produce some of the world’s finest vintages. Fantastic markets including spectacular fish market every Friday.

A credit card guarantee for breakage will be required on arrival but will be returned upon departure
