We loved staying here. Enjoyed canoeing, visiting historical sites, relaxing, eating and drinking! House was perfect. We especially enjoyed the peace and quiet and privacy. Children loved the pool and the various inflatables there. A great holiday!

What's to say? The gite is special, the local support team are great and Ian and Heather are always available to answer any questions. Typical rural setting so the chance to see the deer, watch the raptors and generally chill (or should I say warm - because it is!!) in the pool. Hopefully we will return.

Pierre Lapin is probably one of the two best holiday homes we've ever stayed in - beautifully planned, very attractive, extremely well provided with everything you might need, and with lovely secluded grounds - and a pool. We had a wonderful holiday and hope very much to go back soon.

Just a perfect spot. This gorgeous property really is a little bit of luxury. The owners were so helpful at all stages and had thought of everything to make our stay just as comfortable as possible; we wanted for nothing. Ideally located for days out (our children aged 2 and 6 months) or as we did morning and early afternoon and then back to enjoy the pool. The pool cover provided the necessary security and once in place we were happy for our little boy to run around at will. The kitchen had everything required. The beds were comfortable and the ablutions were first class. The property was spic & span upon our arrival. The complimentary wine and other bits and bobs were a really nice touch and made us feel really welcome. We really enjoyed our time and will look to rebook in the future. Finally a thank you to the owners who were just so approachable and just everything right!

Amazing cottage renovated to a high standard set on a quiet lane with extensive shared gardens. Unfortunately this meant that we had absolutely no privacy if we stayed around the pool as the area was totally exposed to the other property. This would suit families who require no privacy or those not intending to stay in during the day. We loved the cottage which had everything that we needed and the two on-suite bedrooms were extremely tastefully decorated.

Having just returned from a 10 day stay at Pierre Lapin, i can now reflect on a most enjoyable stay in Dordogne. The property and surroundings are just idyllic, so serene, extremely relaxing and very welcoming. This being our second visit to the Dordogne, but different property, we still have not tired of making a visit again sometime. Such beautiful villages to visit, very close in proximity and stunning chateaus, outstanding scenery, all in all a must place to take a holiday, returning feeling totally relaxed and rejuvenated. And we even had a visit from the deer in the evening.

We must really like it this was our second visit and all being well we'll be back next year! If you want peace and quite then this is definitely the place to visit. The cottage was beautifully prepared and the welcome hamper was great. All the facilities at the property are as described, and we would have no problem in recommending this property for a holiday. The owners are easy to deal with and very helpful. If you want some excitement there are plenty of places to go the charming villages nearby are worth a visit lots of places to sit and watch the world go by over a drink.

If you're on your way to the Dordogne, I couldn't think of anywhere better to stay. Pierre Lapin is a beautifully restored cottage, in just about the perfect location to visit all the well known sites, most of them within a half hour drive. Everything in the cottage feels high quality, especially the beds, the kitchen and the bathrooms. The pool is a must when it gets hot - it was briefly 38C during our visit.
Of the less obvious places, we especially enjoyed the ruined but partially restored Chateau de Commarque, in its own secret valley. Don't miss Les Jardins de Marqueyssac, for the views and the cafe. The restaurants on the market square in Belves are a great spot for lunch. And the Carrefour in St Cyprien is an infinitely more pleasant experience than the one in Siorac.
Three things about the cottage:
Could do with a bigger kettle.
The pool cover is easy when you know how. But a more personal video on YouTube showing you how would be a big help.
And wifi was patchy. Our Blackberry and iPhone had an intermittent connection, but our Samsung phone and iPad couldn't get anything at all.
Thank you for helping us enjoy such a great holiday.
