Le Muret is a charmingly restored stone farmhouse with pool. It accommodates up to 10 people and is set in two acre grounds. This fantastic property is totally secluded and boasts lovely panoramic views over rolling countryside.
The house is set completely in the countryside and is magically quiet and tranquil. However, it is only 10 minutes drive from Cordes-sur-Ciel, voted in 2014 as the best village in France. Plus, we are located just 30 minutes from Najac and St Antonin-Noble-Val. These are fascinating medieval bastide towns, full of interest and activities.

Including, information regarding pony-trekking, donkey hire, carriage rides, canoeing/kayaking, painting courses, hire of bicycles etc. We have also put together a summary of this information, with the necessary phone numbers, to make it easier for guests to plan their time. Should you wish to make any arrangements before you come out, perhaps to enquire about painting courses or long-distance pony-trekking, taxis or bicycle hire, please let us know in good time and we will forward this summary to you.
July and August is the season for village fêtes. Every local town and village of any size has one or more fêtes. Expect sideshows, feasting, music, dancing and fireworks, which can often be seen from the garden. This is also the season of brocante fairs. Local markets are in every sense a feast, and St Antonin (which featured in the film 'Charlotte Gray') with its very large and very popular Sunday market is only thirty minutes away.
The countryside around is perfect for walking. We are close to several long distance GR footpaths including the GR des Gorges du Viaur and the GR 36 Gorges de l'Aveyron, Najac et Cordes. From the house we very much enjoy strolling along the little lanes, enjoying the views of Najac and Cordes and across to the Aveyron Gorges to the west. There is very little traffic on the lanes and such local drivers as you do meet are quite likely to offer you a lift! We have several books of local walks and maps for visitors' use, and have made a note of a few of our favourite walks, some on footpaths, some following the lanes. For those who like river swimming there is an excellent spot at Lagarde-Viaur, about 20 minutes from the house.
PLEASE NOTE: Le Muret is available all year. However, we do NOT open the pool until the beginning of May and close it by the end of September

Two of the three bedrooms are very large rooms (5m x 5m and 5m x 4m) with double beds. The largest bedroom enjoys views to three sides. The third double room is slightly smaller and has an en-suite bathroom with large walk-in shower. All the bedrooms are newly decorated and furnished in traditional style.
Two of the bedrooms have traditional 'boat beds' and the third has an antique carved wooden bed. The second bathroom is spacious and has a bath and large walk-in shower. The attics are very large and light. There are two rooms (about 5m x 5m but with steep ceilings!), one with a double bed and a standard single bed. The other has a five foot futon sofa bed and a single bed.
There are also two folding single beds (and a cot) which can be set up in any of the rooms as required. It should be noted that there is not complete privacy in the attic floor and is not suitable for 2 sets of adults. It would be perfect for either a couple & their children or for teenagers &/or children.
