We go every year !
We first started visiting this house just over 5 years ago and we have been every year since for at least a week. We have stayed in this area of France many times before but we loved this house and keep coming back. It is a real home from home with many personal touches - very welcoming, tastefully restored, very private and secure. The living room has exposed beams, stone work and fabulous accoustics. The well stocked kitchen has everything you could want to satisfy every budding Gordon Ramsey! There is a utility to keep on top of the washing if -you want !
The pool is totally private, not overlooked and gets the sun all day. Big enough to exercise in or just relax. All the amenities are clean and tasteful and Hildegard ensures all change-over days go without a hitch and is very flexible - if she can give you access earlier or facilitate a later departure - she will.

The house is about 20 mins from the beautiful Duchy town of Uzes which has an amazing Saturday market and stunning central square. Closer is St. Quentin an interesting village of international potters and artisans with some good restuarants and regular markets.
The house is also ideally situated for visits to Chateauneuf du Pape and Avignon - even a day at the shops in Montpellier!
En route to St Quentin or Uzes you pass fields of sunflowers or lavender and at night it is not unusual to see a few sanglier and baby sanglier (wild boar) carrying on with their nocturnal business - well away from the house which is gated so no chance of an univited visitor !
We hope to have many more holidays here and totally recommend it.

Beautiful house, well located in the Gard
We had a great stay in Bastide d'Engras. The house is lovely and well equipped with a nice swimming pool and a big private parking space. Lot's to see in the Gard: Uzès, Pont du Gard, Les Cascades du Sautadet,... nearby. Even a day to the Mediterranean Sea is possible (1h15min drive). Good hiking, swimming and cycling area. Lovely towns.
