Wonderful experience!
Our extended family holiday was a great exerience this year because the Bastide d'Engras house is a lovely family home in a 'Beau village'.
We couldn't have wished for better accommodation with 3 bathrooms, well-equipped kitchen and a lovely swimming pool. The terrace enabled us to BBQ, watch the swallows dipping and diving, sunbathe privately and see the views across the valley beyond.
Quiet location with excellent facilities
An excellent, clean and very well equipped property. Whilst there are no shops in the small village, its only a 10 minute drive to St Quentin Le Poterie with a small supermarket, Boulangerie etc and 15 minute drive to the bustling town of Uzes, where we visited many times. We enjoyed the pool most days and played boules a few times. It is a good location to explore the area and visit Nimes, Orange, Pont du Gard, Arles, Avignon etc. We may well return in the future...

Lovely house, fantastic pool, excellent location
Set in the pretty hillside village of La Bastide, the location is hard to beat - quiet, great views and in easy reach of many of the popular tourist sites like the Pont du Gard, Uzes, Orange and Avignon. We also tried out some of the lovely walks which are well signposted, crisscrossing the village and surrounding. The house has tonnes of character and is very well presented - spacious, comfortable and with a very well equipped kitchen. The outside courtyard area and pool is fantastic. It's where we spent most of our time either in the pool or lounging around the edge, and there's plenty of shade if the heat gets too much. All in all, the the perfect place to relax and do a little or as much as you want. Can't wait to back!

Lovely house with perfect pool
The house is home from home; very roomy, clean and has everything you need for a perfect stay. The pool is fantastic and a good size. The area is peaceful and beautiful. Uzes has nice shops and places to eat. And there is a supermarket 10 minutes drive away. We came with 2 children 11 & 7. All had a great time. We will be booking again next year.

Stunning quiet and very comfortable holiday home
The Property is in a lovely quiet village not far from Uzes. It has a superb pool - clean and sparkling at a lovely temperature and a drive suitable for boules. Plants are mature and the Jasmin growing up the porch pillars gives off a lovely scent.
The lounge is very comfortable and leads through to an amazingly well equipped kitchen. Bathrooms were all spotless and the three bedrooms quiets and beds / pillows provided deep sleep conditions.
There are some great bike rides from the property - a nice loop to Uzes and back c 25 - 30km for those cyclists reading this.
The property is very well maintained and communication with Jenny was 5 star from the start. Deposit returned very swiftly.
The kitchen was so nice we only ate out on one occasion at St Quentin la Poterie where there was a 20Euro swing band playing and a 3 course meal ..
3 visits to Le Pont Du Gard and one to Nimes (David Gilmour concert) and apart from that we stayed close by.
Highly recommended .. hope we can return

Quite simply the best.
Having travelled widely around France, we keep coming back the Thomas' house in La Bastide D'Engras. This was our third stay. We found it as welcoming as ever. The house is the family's French home; it is very comfortable, well equipped - it does feel just like home. The pool is the best we have encountered in France - fall out of the house into the pool, which is always sparkling clean and professionally maintained. Note, however, that this is not a house suitable for very young children. The weather in July and August is almost guaranteed to be lovely. The area has lots of interest: Uzes a short drive away, Avignon, Nimes, Arles a little further, the Med coast and the Ardeche an hour and a half away. Drive, take the TGV to Avignon or fly to Avignon, Nimes-Arles or Montpelier. You will love it! But book early or we will get there first!
A perfect place to stay
We've just returned from a wonderful 2 week holiday in this delightful property - which provides well furnished and comfortable space with a real feeling of warmth. A really well equipped kitchen encouraged us to eat by the lovely pool on most evenings which was very peaceful and relaxing. We didn't want to leave!
Heavenly Retreat
What a super time i had when I was staying here with some friends. It really is the most peaceful idyll. A gorgeous village and beautiful part of the world. The house is not only spacious and wonderfully presented but also warm and homely. It was a struggle to leave.
Thanks so much for a super stay!
We live in New Zealand and planned a month's holiday in France to have a family reunion. Our adult children are living in London and this house was perfect for a week's holiday in the sun. Plenty of space, a large clean pool and everything provided to enable us to enjoy our stay. We had several trips around the area and made the most of the local markets for fresh produce. Hildegard made us very welcome and, as we speak no French, she was very helpful. This is a very secure and quiet property and have recommended it other New Zealanders who are planning trips to France as it is well positioned for travelling in the area. You take a chance when booking on-line and this property was even better than we expected. Thanks Jenny.

Our family:2 adults and 3 teenagers spent 2 weeks in this wonderful holiday home. It has everything you could possibly need with the advantage of having British owners that you can contact if necessary. The decor is very tasteful and extremely comfortable with modern and clean bathrooms. The pool was fantastic and large enough to have a good swim, with plenty of outside furniture for relaxing or to eat at.We fell in love with the area, regularly having breakfast in Uzes and visiting local markets. The children were happy to eat lcoal ice creams, visit interesting towns like Avignon, swim and watch Sky T.V. or use the internet access in the evening. We all agreed it was a fabulous holiday and would certainly go again.
