Beautiful Self-catering holiday home in Moncontour, 86330 Vienne Reviews

A fantastic family-friendly house. Large and airy. We especially enjoyed the generous kitchen/ dining room which meant everyone could talk and socialise whilst meals were being prepared and direct access to the patio meant we could make the most of the good weather. We enjoyed walks to the lake which had a children’s play area, tennis games on the local court (can be rented at the pharmacy). We liked that there was a co-op and boulangerie int he village so we could pop out for necessaries if we’d forgotten them at the super market and also appreciated the small bar in the village with a large courtyard so we could have an early evening drink before whisking the kids back to bed. We used the local swimming pools in Thouars and Loudain most mornings and then had lunch out in some fantastic restaurants whose children’s set menu was incredible! Older kids liked the table tennis in the garage and swings in the parking space. Will definitely come again. Large enough to come with a second family.

I've stayed at this property a number of times, most recently in August 2024. It's a lovely property which feels very homely, lined with books which you can grab to read during your stay. It's well located to explore the region and its wonderful chateaus. We also visited Futuroscope and Center Parcs which are both close by for a day trip. Local towns are very cute with lovely markets. A great choice for a peaceful break.

House as advertised, friendly, nice garden, good quality bedding
but lots of outdated amenities.
The absence of the owner is felt despite the intervention of competent people in the premises. Suitable for a family not too difficult on comfort.
Pleasant stay though.
